I can say that 20th and Loudon is not a good area to be in at any time for any reason.

I wonder, and I'm just typing out loud here, but I wonder if BL put CW's name on that ransom note because CW was known to speak out and speak up regarding treatment of little Aveion. Maybe BL did it as retaliation against CW for giving BL a hard time about being mean to this little guy. It just seems to me CW is much more concerned about his nephew than either of the parents were. Of course, now we know why the parents weren't concerned.

I really feel for the foster family here. Prayers for them. It must be so very difficult to have cared for and loved this little one, only to have to give him back to his 🤬🤬🤬 parents and then have this happen.

So very sad. Little Aveion stood a real chance at life for awhile. :(

Comment on this article from one of Aveion's uncles - it is not CW so I changed his name to initials, just to be on the safe side:

One act of hate alters the lives of many, which then therefore affects the world; for we as human kind are all connected there is nothing between us. As a response to such hate we seek vengeance, selfish acts of getting even. I believe in a different path, that we as individuals should love the people even if they know nothing else but hate, forgive those that hurt you and feel little remorse. I seek love in my time of pain for this is what this world needs; this is the necessity of mankind. Love the unlovable. I Love you Aveion and wish to see you again on that great day.
Your uncle

I haven't been able to concentrate on work since we heard that little Aveion was gone before the 911 call....I wish the step-monster-dad would tell LE where he is....It's breaking my heart that he's out there somewhere, exposed to the elements & whatever else. :(

And the sorry SOB won't tell them where the body is :furious:

Guess he knows that until they have a body and knows exactly how Aveion died - whether unfortunate accident or out and out murder...it's going to be hard to charge him with certain things.

maybe he's got an attorney and they are trying to broker a deal of some sort. hopefully they won't give him a deal.

I saw the headline early this morning.

Dammit.

Regarding the comment posted a couple of pages back, that a paramedic was trying to adopt. Could that have been his uncle?

So uncle Chris is fireman/EMT/military, eh?

Hmmm.

I think the Roanoke police should release Lockett.

To Chris Ward.

That's one thing I was trying to figure... If there was someone who was in the process of adopting Aveion why was he still in the custody of his mother and step-father?

JMO - I thought during the adoption process that the child is taken out of the home and placed with foster parents until the adoption is final.

It blows my mind that WSET puts the news out on this story - and this is a Lynchburg based news station...

None of Roanoke's stations are reporting on the charges yet...WTH

The step-father of two year-old Aveion Lewis has been charged with felony child neglect, improper disposal of a human body, and obstruction of justice. Brandon Lockett was charged today.
Police continue to search for the child's body and will continue looking in wooded areas and near the banks of the Roanoke River.

At least it's online. :(

Roanoke police have charged the stepfather of Aveion Malik Lewis with child neglect, improper disposal of a human body and obstruction of justice, police said in a news release this afternoon.

Still would like to know what led LE to 20th & Loudon last night. Google walk shows what appears to be a painted cement/cinderblock warehouse type building there with a wooden privacy fence on the property (that spans from the 19th thru the 20th blocks) with houses directly across from that building. When google took the pics this building was up for sale. I don't know if this building is still empty or not. That building spans from 19th to 20th. At the end of this building that is on Loudon there is what appears to be a dirt road that may go behind this building. In the google pic this "access" road is blocked by cinderblocks.

So I'm wondering if there's something to this building or if it is a house that is on the corner of 20th & Loudon.

Wish there was more news.

Hope to take a ride later this afternoon and see exactly what's in that area now.

I'm so sad to read the outcome of this one. That poor little boy. If the stepfather confessed to killing him, why doesn't he just come out and tell them where his body is?? I don't understand that.

Darn it! I just saw the news.

What the heck?

You know, I believed the step dad.

Shows how good I am at catching liars.

Why?

He was such a beautiful little boy. This breaks my heart.
