Will be interesting to see what info the 5:00 news brings...

Wondering if one of the reasons that BL hasn't been charged with murder yet is because it was actually done at the hands of someone else and he was just responsible for the transporting and disposing of a body illegally.

Just running a lot of things thru my mind...

I was leaning toward believing the step-dad too, for whatever reason. I really didn't expect to come across this news here today.

Do you think there's any hope that he's simply pretending Aveion was deceased? That would help make sense of him refusing to state where the body was, since there wouldn't be one in that event. Not that there couldn't be other reasons, but it sure would be nice to find out he just made that part up and a "live" Aveion was being hidden from a potential adopter (or something to that effect). Maybe the step-dad really was beaten up and was threatened with the fate of others he loves? I know, it's probably a longshot/wishful thinking.

I, too, will be curious to hear more about what the mother says as it seemed like she was mentioned very little in the beginning of the case.

FWIW, I need to go back and see what all I've missed in the interim, so apologies in advance if anything I've suggested doesn't match with already known facts.

That's always a possibility that BL could be pretending that Aveion is deceased (to keep him from being adopted out)...but unfortunately don't believe that is the case here.

I don't either. Either way he would be in trouble but he's going to be in a lot more trouble by saying Aveion is dead.

I'm so sad to read the outcome of this one. That poor little boy. If the stepfather confessed to killing him, why doesn't he just come out and tell them where his body is?? I don't understand that.

Because he is a lowlife, 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 piece-of-crap, who probably has a lawyer telling him to keep quiet.

OMG that poor baby!

So uncle Chris is fireman/EMT/military, eh?

Hmmm.

I think the Roanoke police should release Lockett.

To Chris Ward.

That and waterboarding come to mind..... Doesn't it just irk everyone sometimes how we have to treat these 🤬🤬🤬 adult criminals who kill children. I mean this child was reported to be a whole 24 lbs, he never had a chance against his step dad. :furious:

My heart is crying out for Aveion and all the little ones who suffer at the hands of those who are supposed to care for him.

It makes me want to go back in time, be there... scoop these precious little ones up and take them away from all the pain and abuse they have had to endure.

I'd really love to know what/why CPS thought these two idiots (ML & BL) where competent to care for this child, as well as their others. I mean seriously, mom KNEW SHE KNEW when Aveion was born he was a special needs child and she already had one older to care for. She was young, had two with one special needs. WHY did she think she could handle having two more? I hate to say it, but with the changes in welfare the rules as I understand them are 5 years max per kid.. so what these women do is keep popping out more to add 5 more years for their meal ticket. Kids should NEVER BE A MEAL TICKET! :furious:

I PRAY the other three are taken away from her and placed with loving family's who will give them a chance in life.

RIP Aveion. We won't let you down until you are found and you receive justice! Rest in the arms of Jesus precious Aveion. I wish I had a chance to know you in life, like your uncle posted, we will get to meet one day....

Because he is a COWARD who cares more about himself than this precious beautiful innocent baby boy who died at his hands.

Darn it! I just saw the news.

What the heck?

You know, I believed the step dad.

Shows how good I am at catching liars.

Why?

He was such a beautiful little boy. This breaks my heart.

:(
fran

Fran I wanted to and did believe him at first too. Initially I thought the three make believe thugs were close to his home. I understood having the details if that where the situation, but when I read further and realized this happened as far away from his front door as it did... (when he saw these guys) I knew he was FOS.

I just hope when he is finally in prison, he gets his! Child killers don't have an easy time in the joint. There is a special place in hell for men like Brandon Lockett.

Sorry to quote myself but this is WHY I think this 🤬🤬🤬 coward made up the abduction story. I'm still hoping this was an accident until further details are made public. I think, because they knew they almost lost Aveion to adoption they were afraid they would lose the other three kids. Which, imo, was not only wrong but incredibly selfish and immature.

Clearly they were struggling. Clearly mom has at least two wonderful brothers from what we have read. She HAD people who apparently would have helped in any way had she reached out to them and sought help from the people who love her and could have helped. Instead, she chose NOT TO and now little Aveion has paid the price for his mother and step fathers selfishness with his life.

At least we know, in most cases, (when CPS actually does their job properly) that she will lose the other 3 children, and in the event she decides to continue being a baby making machine the state will step in (if they do their job properly) and place any future children she has in foster care and watch her CLOSELY.

I am just sorry it cost a child his life for this to happen with this family.

She's been questioned, but that's all that has been released.

Uncle said he thought the mom was intimidated/afraid of Lockett and that's why she went along with this crap.

Sorry, but that's where me and uncle part ways.

BS.

As a mom and grandma, there is NOTHING that would stand in my way or intimidate me should one of mine be in danger. And God help the poor 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 who would ever lay a finger on any of them ... he would be praying the police got to him first.

I agree with your sentiments Calliope.

I was just responding to the poster who (I gathered) wondered about if LE had released any info on the mother.

I just have a very sinking feeling that when it all comes out that we are going to find that the mom was involved in this somehow. The silence is deafening when it comes to her.

  • #453
Someone posted in the comments of the last article that maybe it was mom that disposed of little Aveion and then when she got back, they called 911. I think this is totally plausible if BL is still not talking about where he put Aveion.

Also, if it was BL who hid the body, then I don't think little Aveion's death was an accident or due to illness. If the child died from natural causes there is no reason to hide the body. So given that he told LE the child was gone, there would be no reason to continue to hide the body unless there is physical evidence that BL doesn't want LE to know about....

WSLS news has just said that Aveion's body still has not been found and that BL is not cooperating in that department. Search crews are searching a 2 mile radius around BL's apartment.

  • #455
Sad to say...sounds like neither of them want the body to be found...would be too telling as to what happened...

IMO...sounds like Mom doesn't care that BL or maybe even her put out her child like day old trash.

It's raining here and getting colder. We're expected to have icing conditions starting tomorrow afternoon. Pray that searchers find him before the worse weather sets in.

I want to put this out there because this case affects me personally. I have been a member here for a couple of years and while I do not post very much, I feel it is necessary in this case. I would just like to ask that every one put aside any negative opinions of DSS and CPS, at least as it relates to this child. The workers and agency involved are going through their own personal hell, and it is uncalled for to assign any more blame to them. There was no failure on the behalf of DSS, and certainly not CPS. Everything the law allows to protect this child (and his siblings) was done. I know people are angry -as am I- at this child's death, but please, put the blame where it belongs.

Hi everyone...I couldn't sleep last night because I had Aveion on my mind and like MBLover said we are supposed to get ice and that's going to hinder the search. This is such a tragedy that there are no words to describe the sadness that I'm feeling right now.

(RUMOR) Interesting comments from Jen here. She claims she is a friend of the woman who babysat the children. That the children were just recently returned to the mom from social services. That mom may be involved somehow. That the children are now back in the custody of social services.

Thanks for the link. There are no cameras here where I live either. I have always thought that there should be.

How can someone find out what day the trash truck runs there. So sorry to have to type this but ours runs on Wednesdays. This happened last Thursday..There was Friday, Monday and Tuesday.

snoelle, thank you for your POV. I understand and respect it. I realize DSS and CPS workers are overloaded (as are many state workers) and have certain guidelines which must be followed. I apologize if my previous posts offended you in any way. I guess my frustration stems from both a lack of further knowledge regarding the system and perhaps the restrictions which DSS and CPS workers must work with. I realize the 'rules' are not the choice of the workers, and that most workers care very much for these children and their choice of work. I can't imagine how it must be...other than it must be difficult to not get burnt out sometimes.

Thank you for your post. My prayers to those who tried to help this little boy in addition to his extended family and siblings who will miss him dearly.
