I think this is just one of those cases that is gonna have that news that comes at ya like being slammed in the gut with a baseball bat. Just hits ya that way. Honestly, not many of the cases here have effected me the way this one does.

I will never forget you Aveion, and between you and me. I am still always gonna remember you on the 14th. Soar Aveion Soar! You will see justice precious angel!

I think she was crying because she knows she ain't getting out of this one.

You asked me a question regarding another post I had made and asked if I had saw it on channel 7 (WDBJ - local CBS affiliate) and I posted back that I saw it on channel 10 (WSLS) - ML rolling her eyeballs around and acting like she was upset.

She can cry all she wants and whats the saying? Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Of course that is pending a conviction..... which I think we will get. no way is she getting out of this without doing any time. That girl is gonna be crying for any deal she can get now. OT- I knew a lady that worked in Cook Cty Jail for more than 20 years. Said the reaction was always the same, no matter how tough someone appeared, when those doors slammed closed. And yep, she did work there way back when those doors were slammed on Gacy, and she saw that same reaction.

I wonder what BL's statement would have been if it had been known charges were pending for Morgan. Too late now....... IMO, they had the time. Both of them did when those divers were searching the river and tons of trash were being sorted to look for Aveions remains. Time to talk was then. :furious:

ETA: The only deal I can see for Morgan now, includes her guilty plea. I don't see any other opportunities to strike a deal, unless whatever she pleas to will up the murder charges on BL. jmo

What I just don't get is why kill the baby?

I can understand that he many have been a 'high-maintainance' baby, what with the feeding issues, buying special food (if they did), repeat doctor visits, etc.

What I can't understand is why kill him? Why not give him to a family member to raise, and barring that, take him to a police/fire station or hospital and drop him off? The bad news is that, in Virginia, the Into Safe Arms law only allows a baby up to 2 weeks old and unharmed to be dropped off. But still, run up, knock and run away!

As a side-topic (being not quite off-topic!), I was shocked while searching for the dropping off baby laws to find this http://tinyurl.com/yfybszj It is a pro-adoption website that is adament that Safe Haven Laws be stopped, because that provides less children to be available for adoption! Sounds awfully self-serving to me ... shouldn't it be about the child's safety and well-being?!

Or, was Aveion THE child that was 'hated' and abused in the family. If any of you can stomach it, please read the book "The Boy Named It" by Dave Pelzer (along with his follow-up book). It is his autobiography, detailing the obscene abuse he had from his mother, while his father stood by and did nothing. There were other children in the home, and he never quite understood why he was the one designated as "It."

I'd wondered if little Aveion was the 'scapegoat' of the family. Maybe it was because he was "high maintenance", maybe he looked a little too much like his father. Makes me wonder if the oldest was next in line

My concern is they'll drop the 2nd degree murder charge in exchange for testimony and evidence that will nail BL on his charges.

I do not think they will drop charges against Morgan. I don't think they can because the public would be outraged. Not only that, without a conviction against Morgan, any necessary much needed changes with CPS would be a mute point.

Remember, Brandon Lockett had no legal rights to Aveion. He never adopted him and his biological father never gave up his rights. So a conviction against Brandon IS a mute point where any CPS problems are concerned.

Also, and this is thinking ahead, if I were Aveions biological father I would most certainly be consulting an attorney. I don't know the ins and outs of his fight for his children, but given the circumstances, why wasn't he given the option of caring for Aveion and his sister? I can see Foster care necessary during the time Aveion needed to gain weight and get back on developmental track for his age, but once that was done, WHY was the mother given custody rather than the father? A LOT of fathers feel bulldozed, like their fight is in vain. I don't blame Aveions bio dad for feeling that way. As a single parent myself, I have see far too many fathers denied their legal rights to their kids. Especially by mothers like Morgan Lockett who just pick and chose the 'father of the day' while they are bedding them and can't be bothered to coparent. :furious:

I do think it prudent for Aveions bio father to at least look into this, to help prevent it happening from any other fit capable fathers if possible. Who's to say the paternal grandmother couldn't have been able to care for Aveion and would have fully supported her son. Paternal Grandma was quoted in media stating they TRIED to visit Aveion and be part of his life but no one ever answered the door. :furious:

I hope both Brandon and Morgan rot, they both deserve to rot in tons of trash just like they were willing to let Aveion if it weren't for those searchers who dug through those tons of trash to find him and allow him a proper buriel. :furious:

I don't know the ins and outs of Aveion's biodad's legal fight either. But from experience, I do know that such a fight is very costly and any father that goes to court without an attorney - almost always loses Mom can go without an attorney, but never dad

I don't know if he gave up before Aveion was sent to foster care or what.... it really doesn't matter at this point, but if he did attempt to excersize his rights for visitation during the time Aveion was in foster care then he does need to contact an attorney about what failed. If he had established paternal rights, CPS should have notified him regarding the situation and considered him as placement or at least having visitation. If he was never notified of the CPS investigations and foster care etc. then he needs to find out why and what attempts were made to make contact with him.

I agree 100% Cubby! Unless there was a reason - Aveion should have gone to his dad a long time ago. I was just saying that dad's have a hard time in court contrary to popular belief, sometimes.

ITA.. Dad's have the hardest time in court.. Custody almost always goes to the mother. Maybe now, judges will look a little harder at both parents to see who really does have the best interests of the child at heart. Because as we've seen with a few cases lately... (Marc Bookal) Placement with the father was the much better choice.

Why does this name Strickland sound familiar to me? Was he discussed in either of the two previous threads or am I recalling the name from something else entirely?

I'd also like to know why three?

At least she wasn't able to hire that Lawrence attorney she was hoping to retain.

I'm just going to say this ahead of time, if she is granted bond and makes bond I'm going to wonder why she and her family were begging for donations for the children when the home was still supposedly a crime scene they couldn't get access to.

Is anyone beside me ready to :sick: to see Morgan portrayed like the victim here?
