Details of Disappearance
Christ was last seen in Spotsylvania, Virginia sometime during October 1993. His son stated he walked out of the family home on Orange Plank Road after an argument and never returned. He has never been heard from again.

Christ had dropped out of sight for long time periods before. He wasn't reported missing until October 2003, approximately ten years after he vanished. His brother notified the police about his disappearance.

When authorities questioned his family, they received several conflicting accounts as to what might have happened to him. They searched Christ's last known address and found no evidence of his whereabouts.

In 2007, Christ's wife, Wendy Dauberman, and their two sons, Christ Jr. and Craig, were indicted for theft and fraud, for cashing $367,330 worth of Social Security and Department of Veterans Affairs disability checks sent to Christ Sr. He had been receiving about $3,000 a month in benefits at the time of his disappearance.

Wendy and Christ Jr. were later convicted on twelve counts. The day after their convictions, Wendy and Christ Sr.'s residence caught fire. Investigators determined it was arson, but no arrests were ever made.

No one has been charged in Christ's disappearance. His case remains unsolved. Some agencies give the date of disappearance as October 1995.

Uuuh, very interesting. I just came to this thread to mention that I had found an Social Security Death Index entry for Crist Sr. for Orange, VA in the 2000s. (Sent it to the Sheriffs office.)

Now I am actually even more intrigued what goes on with this case.

<<"Ms. Dauberman turned to her daughter and told her to finish the job," Spotsylvania fire Capt. William E. Hart wrote in an affidavit for a search warrant. The affidavit said several law-enforcement officers and an attorney overheard the comment.

The morning after Dauberman was convicted, a passer-by reported flames shooting through Dauberman's brown split-level home on Orange Plank Road. Court papers show investigators found a gasoline can just inside the front door and smelled gas in a detached garage, which also suffered fire damage.>>

<<According to a federal indictment, Wendy Dauberman's husband, Crist Dauberman Sr., qualified for veterans benefits and Social Security disability benefits in the 1980s. His payments were deposited directly into his bank account.

Around October 1993, the husband disappeared and was no longer living with his family or receiving the government benefits. Wendy Dauberman accessed her husband's bank account and used the money for herself and her sons.

In October 1996, Crist Dauberman Jr., with his mother's help, filed a Social Security report but did not say his father was no longer living at home. They made three more similar reports over the years, the indictment said.>>

In this case, it was most likely the wife in collusion with the eldest son... but I'm sure someone else helped them, perhaps with a body transfer or to dismember him, poison him, shoot him, etc. I don't think it was just the two of them. I saw a few years ago that a John Doe with his characteristics could have been him, but it was a false alarm...
whatever it is
Rest in peace
