I lived over in that area - Buckroe Beach - for a couple of years right on the beach. It's very open, what I mean by that is there are not really any woods -its more of a flat beachy area. Very close to the bay. You can see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge from the beach.

If he walked off, someone would have surely seen him.

I live in VA Beach area now which is across the water, but the area he disappeared in has a mixture of communities, some bad, some good.

I grew up in Newport News and visited this beach many times over my life. I'd imagine there are lots of cameras around there on house or streets by now.

With that in mind, police are looking for any information such as surveillance video from the public surrounding the case from noon Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday.

Though Bigsby’s father and mother are both considered persons of interest, Talbot said there’s still no information that makes police believe Codi Bigsby was abducted at this time (which Talbot says would trigger an Amber Alert). Chief Talbot added during the briefing that he did not want to comment on whether there was a history of neglect.

When asked if he believes Codi Bigsby is still alive, Talbot replied: “we will work as if he’s out there, waiting for us to find him.”

sigh. My soul is tired of watching this scenario play out over and over and over.

Watching Channel 10 local news now- the police will not give out the mother's name, the mother does not live in the area, but has returned to the area. Mother "perhaps" lives in the Washington DC area- according to the local news. That is 2- 3 hours away.

Interesting because she could have been there at the time he went missing. I'm sure someone would be able to say when she was last seen at her home and maybe if she was seen in the Hampton area recently. Just because the two don't currently live together doesn't mean that they do not still have a relationship. I wonder if the mom is a minor.

hopefully he wasnt places in the trash, remember the one little boy whose mom from buckroe threw him in the trash and he was found at a steam plant? i guess they dispose of their waste that way.

Wonder if he works there or has a connection. I guess they take waste there and it gets turned to steam. It's very local to the location he went missing from so looking in the trash cans at the apartment makes sense. Maybe there was a Monday morning pick up in that area and went straight to the steam plant.
