I wonder if they will drop or lower the CA charges since he has now been convicted of murdering Codi. Or could these CA charges be used as leverage t get him to pony up the exact location of Codi's remains. You give that up we will lower or drop completely the remaining charges?

The child abuse ) disregard of life cases, I believe add up to more then 100 additional years in jail, I know the commonwealth was/is seeking maximum sentence in all no deals but with the abuse cases same day as sentencing I wonder what's up,I hope the inmate says where Codi is but I dunno. I wonder if Amina is still representing him for those cases seeing how he spoke of his lawyers in his interview. Up until the trial she was his most vocal supporter along with the inmates sister.. this child just spoke to my heart from the first day being reported missing seeing the family support the murderer and not the child. I hope the murder has nightmares . I hope the murder realizes even if he stops eating again he isn't getting out he is done. Jmvho

Governor Glenn Younkin visited Stafford today to sign a bill to prevent children from exploitation. Sen.Tara Durant, Del. Paul Milde and Supervisor Darrell English attended. The girl is there on behalf of her brother, Codi Bigsby, a child who went missing from Hampton in 2022.

Tuesday afternoon Governor Glenn Youngkin signed a bill to create the CODI alert - in honor the little boy from Hampton who is presumed dead after his father was found guilty of his murder.

Tomorrow should be interesting his sentencing for murder and the child abuse case is suppose to start. I know they are hoping for maximum sentence in all the cases ,so it should be well over 100 years but honestly just wish the inmate would say where codi is. I wonder who will be representing him tomorrow after his comments about Amina and team lol jmoo

Cory Bigsby to be sentenced Tuesday for murder of son Codi

Cory Bigsby, the Hampton man who was convicted of killing his 4-year-old son, Codi, will be sentenced on Tuesday for the crime.

Hampton Commonswealth's Attorney Anton Bell said in March that he'll be seeking the maximum sentence for Cory Bigsby.

"Forty years for second-degree murder, which is the max," Bell said. "Five years for discarding a dead body. That’s the most I’m going to get and that’s what I’m going to ask for."

In March, Bigsby's legal team would not officially say whether they plan to appeal, but lawyers told News 3 at the time they are waiting until after the sentencing to appeal. They will have 30 days after the sentencing is issued to file an appeal.

Cory Bigsby sentencing: Hampton man to receive sentence for his young son Codi's murder

Prosecutors will ask the judge for the maximum sentence of 45 years in prison, which includes 40 years for second-degree murder and 5 years for concealing a body.

The sentencing date of June 18 holds symbolic meaning in the case: it marks three years since authorities believe the little boy was murdered.

Bigsby admitted in a jailhouse confession letter that Codi died on June 18, 2021.
