Va. slayings suspect put violent rap songs on Web


One of several songs posted on his MySpace page under his stage name talks about the thrill of killing someone. A friend confirmed the site and the songs were McCroskey's.

"You're not the first, just to let you know. I've killed many people and I kill them real slow. It's the best feeling, watching their last breath. Stabbing and stabbing till there's nothing left," McCroskey sings in "My Dark Side."

Police captured a young California man at Richmond International Airport yesterday and charged him in the slayings of four people at the Farmville home of a Longwood University professor.

Farmville police confirmed only the identity of Mark Niederbrock, pastor at Walker's Presbyterian Church in the Hixburg area of Appomattox County, among the victims found Friday at the home of Debra S. Kelley, a Longwood professor from whom he was separated. The other victims were females, police said.

Kelley and Niederbrock have a daughter, Emma. Another teen was believed to be visiting at the home.

The owners of his recording lable have posted a press release about the murders on the official website.

From what I understand, on Sept 12 Emma Kelly and Sam met at a music festival in Michigan called "Strictly For The Wicked Festival". I am not sure if Melanie was there too.

After the festival Sam went to stay at the Kelly farm in Virginia. Melanie Wells was staying at Emmas there too. Not long after arriving, they were murdered together with Emma's parents.

Melanie's mother called police when she did not hear from her daughter. Police went to the house and Sam answered the door and said the daughter had gone to the movies.

Melanie's mother called the recoding studio (why, I am not sure) and spoke to Razakel and SickTanicK (the owners) called around for information. After a while, someone called back and said that Sam had contacted them saying he had killed everyone. They called police and Melanie's mother. Police returned to the house and this time smelled a decomposing body.

not necessarily - perhaps she had one too & gave it to someone else ... the shirt he's wearing in that pic doesn't look particularly tight & she looks to have been a tiny girl so if she first owned that shirt, it would've had to have been way too big for her (maybe someone can find pics of her wearing that shirt to compare)

my feeling is that that comment really doesn't mean anything in the context of their relationship

Apparently he and Emma have started an online relationship sometime around Feb 2009. You can tell they have never met before, because on June 20 she writes "and why is ur nic Lil Demon DOg are u short or something? lol"

By July she is writing him almost daily. On August 19 she writes:

Sept 18 1pm: Sam is at airport. Has arrived by taxi

Sept 18 3-4pm: Police discover bodies

Sept 19 (early am) Melanie's mother calls Razakel at the record studio, she is worried about Melanie. They make some phone calls. Someone tells SickTanicK that Sam has killed everyone. SickTanicK calls Farmville police.

Sept 19(11:25 a.m): Richmond International Airport police arrest Richard Alden Samuel McCroskey.

This statement seems very interesting to me:

At least two of the bodies were so badly decomposed that they will have to be identified by dental records, said Dennis Sercombe, a Longwood vice president.

This implies to me that there may have initially been two murders and the other two murders may have happened later. Of course, this is just speculation. There could be other reasons for two bodies to decompose more quickly (heat, environment, etc).
