“We believe Eric has ties to the Joppa/Baltimore Maryland area, Rochester, New York, Columbia, South Carolina, Lake City, South Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia and Lincoln University in Pennsylvania,” said Lead Detective Regine Wright earlier this year.''
Charlottesville Police are offering a $10,000 reward and the city is matching that $10,000 for any information leading to an arrest in Smith’s case.

If you can help police find McFadden or you know what happened to Sage Smith, you can call anonymously to the Charlottesville-area Crimestoppers at 434-977-4000.''

I just want to pop in and say that McFadden and a few other people are considered people of interest in Sage's Case: According to NamUs, a friend of Sage, shortly after her disappearance, was caught using her food STAMP cards, and another one of her friends was seen with her locket, but she denied ever taking the locket from smith and said it was a gift from her boyfriend: I will say though, I believe Sage is 100% dead, and her case is definitely considered some sort of a hate crime since back then transgender people weren't as accepted in 2012 as they were now.

Also! I did managed to find a few Erik McFaddens' on WhitePages, and one seemed to match McFadden's profile, but the rest of the addresses were locked, so I couldn't check whether it was him or not. :|I'm going to guess he's probably in New York because its a 3 Hour drive, about the same from my town to Boston.

The Facebook pages are taken down. Is there by any chance an internet archive of them?
did anyone manage the run the links through the wayback machine? I'm going to see if I can, but I can't guarantee that the pages will be up.

bad news---i tried running facebook thrugh the wayback machine, but there are no dates for November 2012

Sage is still missing...and so is McFadden..who, IMO, is a definite POI in Sage's disappearance. The key to finding Sage is to find McFadden.
Someone knows something...

im still very steadfast on my theory that he's in new york. again, the drive from Virginia to new york is 3 hours, and that's a good enough distance to get away swiftly.

Hello, hi. I need help from anyone who is good with using or navigating the internet archive or wayback machine. This is regarding the case of Sage Smith and also Erik McFadden. For those who need context, Sage Smith is a young Transgender woman who disappeared on November 29th, 2012 after saying she was going to meet a man (McFadden) she was last seen in (I think) Amtrak Station in Charlottesville, VA. McFadden is a prime suspect in her case and so are a few other people, but they're not named.

Now, what do I need your guys' help for? See, when I was surfing this site, I found a post based on sage, and one of the commentators linked their facebook pages, but both have since either been privated or deleted. What I need is for someone to run both links back in the wayback machine so I can collect evidence and figure out what exactly happened to her. With a social media page, it would be good enough to collect evidence.

Sages' FB: Log into Facebook

Erik McFadden's FB: Log into Facebook

if anyone is able to help, it is greatly appreciated. my goal is to solve this case and bring sage some justice and her family leverage while also getting McFadden arrested. Her case angers me so much because of how McFadden is able to walk free and Sage is potentially dead.

Also! Why I am asking for someone else to run back the site for me is because I'm not really good with using the Wayback Machine, and assistance is greatly appreciated.

To use the internet archive/wayback machine, you just put the address of their pages into the search at Wayback Machine. Unfortunately, when I put in Sage and McFadden's facebook addresses in it, it told me that those pages were never crawled by their archiver, so they have no record of either page.

maybe there is some place that has them archived. If anyone super good with technology they can recover sage's and mcfaddens digital footprint.

  • #236
Not found either on the archive sites I usually use unfortunately.

Can you share what other archive sites you use? I'm only familiar with archive.org.

  • #238
same here! i'm only familiar with that.
we need to get someone who's more tech-savvy to see if they can recover the digital footprint of both Mcfadden and sage. I have a suspicion that right before sage went missing, she must've posted something after, and so did Mcfadden. A digital footprint can in no way be erased, and if we get someone that's techy enough we could possibly find out what had happened.

again, when i heard about this case, my goal was and still is to solve it and bring sage to justice. I want to gather as many people as possible to aid me in doing so, because her case frustrates me the most and I won't stop looking until I or someone else finds Erik McFadden.

I will say I did find MANY whitepage profiles that have his name but since most of the profiles are premium I cannot check if they've ever lived in Charlottesville

Wait, did anyone know what paint shop McFadden worked at during the time of her disappearance? if there are some employees that worked around that time span they must've known something
