Someone posted 3 pics that related to the disappearance of AM and possible connection to JM. I don't know what to make of that.

It's freaking crazy. If you go and look at the site referenced it's even worse. But getting back on topic (sorry for going OT), does anyone know if JM has a twitter?

He wasn't charged with anything before he left.

He has been charged w/ something since Saturday, and it was made public on Sunday. So since at least Sunday - today he could have turned himself in.

Me, too. I figured it was a ruse to let him get too comfortable and that once they had the charges, they would swoop in and arrest him. Praying that they will capture him very soon.

"Police Capt. Gary Pleasants said Tuesday that officers took several items of clothing during their second search of Matthew's apartment, but he would not give details or elaborate on the search.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the state lab was still analyzing evidence it has received from Charlottesville police, including nearly two dozen items and eight "known samples that we would use for comparison purposes," said Jeffrey Ban, director of the Department of Forensic Science's Central Laboratory in Richmond.

Ban said that the department has expedited the case and hoped to provide authorities with results in the "very near future." But he noted the lab could spend hours or even a whole day on a single piece of evidence that may have multiple stains or hairs on it. He also said it is standard procedure to test any samples against those in their database, including those from other missing persons cases in the central Virginia area."

There is also a comment that someone jumped on about seeing her at Liberty and (IMO) they mistook the Liberty Gas Station for Liberty U -- and wondered if it was the same timeframe that JM was at Liberty U.

I think that's what they are talking about.

I'm the one that posted about this day or two ago. Any and all movement she made that nite is important She had to go somewhere in the 45 mins heading to McGradys. 15 min walk max. Also time stamps can be collaborated and mistakes corrected if LE does it. They only say she traveled on foot. I think it could be important because it's a straight shot to downtown mall. One road it a ways. She wouldn't ended up on mall iost. It's was up steep hill halfway there. Darkest area. Much more lit areas if she would have went slightly different way she passed many bisinesses whether on foot or in car actually police station is on same street. On foot she could have crossed onto well lit all well before the area she walked to before doing so. Close to parking garage. Just thinking if time doesn't add up. Possible she caught ride. Maybe cars on video or her walking

Another user, bakerlady, and I talked about it for a bit, we both even made maps with our own ideas. That 45 minute gap is troubling, in my opinion. And if you notice when she if filmed at Gradys she is actually walking EAST, which is TOWARDS the party she had left. At Gradys she loops around then and ends up going back West (the wrong way to get home)

I actually thought if you watched closely it looked liked she crossed the street and talked to a car that pulled over, I am most likely wrong, but it kind of looks like that... but in any case, she is next filmed at Shell, and I think she is on the same side of the street she was on when she was by McGradys pub.

If you look at a map and zoom in, there isn't just the main Grady street, but there is another Grady right next to the bar, and those other little divide turning streets are Grady too. I wonder if when she popped up, and looped around she looked and got confused as to how she was oriented, mistaking the Grady sign by the bar for the little Grady as being for the main Grady street. So she looks, sees the sign and then turns West, AWAY from campus and the party, and headed further away. You can see her stop for a moment as if she is looking at her phone and possibly the street sign, before she turns and walks back the way she came.

She also posted on twitter a long time ago a screen shot of a bus app the area has. I wondered if she was maybe tapping that app, trying to find a bus to catch or using it as map/reference. You can see the routes live and watch the buses moving around.

There were a couple stops right over in that area, and she may have thought she was approaching one when she ended up going the wrong way.

Actually there was a 45 min gap from the time she left party when she told male friend she was going home until she ended up on video at mcgradys pub. The most troubling thing i see and LE never speaks about, she was seen in front of shell on video at 12:55. Then 5 minutes later at 1:00 witnesses saw her crossing near 3rd st at restaurant. I live in charlottesville and no way she got there on foot in 5 minutes evening running. Over half distance uphill also. It took her 9 minutes from mcgradys to shell and way shorter distance. Possible shecaight ride on way to mall? With who if so? On foot she could have crossed one street over and even on downtown mall in 1/4 mile less. Instead she traveled on extremely dark road to opposite end of mall only to comeback down mall backtracking and seen on video at 1:05 none minutes from shell video. I will try to include map and walking path

I brought this over from the last thread because I wanted to respond to this. I don't know how much time it usually takes to go from that party to Grady's Pub. She could have taken a ciruitous route--she was intoxicated, remember.

I believe I respnded to a similar question with a personal example of what I did just last week. Had my mind on something else, got turned around and then was lost in an area I sort of knew, but not well. But did not immediately understand what I did and wasted even more time wandering around. And I was not "on" anything, it was not night. LE might be able to track her exact route if her cell phone is recovered--some have sophisticated tracking, or they may already know. It really isn't relevant, IMO, since the puzzle really starts after she meets up with JM, goes to Tempo, leaves Tempo and leaves the area, all of which is not on video from what LE has said.

A resident of Charlottesville, who knows the area very well wrote a similar post, saying that the time stamps could not possibly be correct. I believe there are at least two such posts. It is entirely possible that the cameras were not exactly set to the right time. That is something I have seen. The paths she took and the way she took them are somewhat attributed to her confused condition. She had been drinking is what seems to be the consensus.

Again, the time line might be shaped up at the trial if this is something that is presented. I don't think the focus will be on the time before she met JM and the possibilities thereafter. Any reason why this could be important?

The timeline leading up to Hannah meeting JM might be important if this was not a one person crime. She might have gotten a ride from someone which explains her fast moving around, and this person could have called JM to set her up/pick her up. Something of that sort. jmo

Everywhere else she walks that nite takes her long time but she can go over mile in dark uphill in5 minutes? And was supposed to be drunk? Doesn't add up

either the clock on the camera or whatever the witness used to tell time could have been off by 5 min or more i wouldn't read to much into it.

Oh. I didn't follow that case so I don't know the facts, but I thought they were also pointing to the comments of her in floral leggings and the pic of her at the gas station has her in floral leggings.

Added: and I believe RT said he took a cab back after dumping her car. Another possible connection to JM?

I know that a lot of you thought I was defending JM these past few days -- but I was really just looking at the process. Now that CPD has laid these charges, I feel very confident that they have enough evidence to link JM to HG. There is no way that they would charge him with this felony otherwise. Not in this day and age, especially. I believe that Longo -- while a bit over the top for me in the theatrics dept -- is one of the smartest police chiefs I have seen on this type of a case. He knew what he was doing (even if it was making some of us cringe at times) and I am sure that he was probably guided by the FBI every step of the way. There was a prominent local criminal defense atty on the radio here today and he said that, albeit unorthodox, that he felt that the CPD was doing everything they could while staying within the law while feeling like their hands were tied in many ways by political correctness, etc.

Now that they charges have been laid and the Commonwealth's Attorney and the Magistrate has given them the green light to proceed -- my tune will be a whole lot different from what it was before, as I believe that they have enough evidence to make it stick. I remember Longo saying early on that they weren't going to make a charge until they had enough to convict and I believe this man (Longo, not JM). I just needed to be sure that they had evidence over what appeared to be emotion.

Now I say...full steam ahead. Catch him, try him, and if there is enough evidence to convict him, lock him up and throw away the key so that he can never, ever, hurt one more young woman.
