It was linked upthread that Camblos said he spoke with JLM on Saturday. That was the day he came to the police station.

Thank you for the clarification! I see it now. But I still wonder how they could know that he intended to rape her. What evidence could they have to prove it was rape and not consensual?

It could be many things. None of which Longo is going to divulge.

Possessions of HG found in his car or home.
Roofies found in his car or home.
Blood found that matches Hannah's in car or home.
Semen found comingled with blood and DNA of both victim and perp.
Torn clothing found either belonging to Hannah or the suspect.

Imo, he did abduct Hannah with intentions of raping her and most likely did so.

That is why she didn't come back and has dropped off the face of the earth now.

If it had been consensual there would be no reason for her not to return to her normal life and daily activities.

It wasn't consensual. I think even though she was intoxicated at the time she tried to fight him off and he murdered her in a rage which he is known to have at times when things do not go his way. He also knew if he didn't murder her she would tell what he had done to her.

While the probable cause threshold is low the DA and LE..... they also know when they arrest someone on these kind of charges they have to have the evidence to prove it at trial. I think both are very comfortable with the evidence they have acquired up to this point showing guilt and as more forensics come back it will only get worse for JM.

Apparently she was calling people. Maybe LE will release cell phone info. She was texting and calling. But Hannah was not in her right mind, had been drinking they say, and so likely were those she was calling. SOmeone should have told her to sit in a public spot and stay there and called campus security or the police,or someone with car go fetch her. BUt she might not have agreed, and there could have been repercussions she felt were important to avoid with LE or security getting involved because she was inebriated and underage. They would have likely run her in. Calling and talking though is not always the best thing in the wrong place, with the wrong people looking for prey. What happened to Hannah is really so typical that it's stereo typical. Getting picked up by the wrong person or abducted even. This happens a lot among young people, by the way. Usually no permanent harm done, but often enough some bad experience comes of it. Just usually not this exteme, though it's a possibility that always looms over this scenario. No one is surprised this happened. It was what was expected, sadly, that she got picked up, violated and ditched maybe not alive., probably not alive.

We have several defense attorneys in Richmond who are similar to this guy. Respectable win record, penchant for taking on cases and defending people many lawyers would never touch.

When you walk into the courtroom with one of these guys, people pretty much assume you are guilty but they are often good enough to get scum like this off, often on a technicality....and for a price...of course.

Makes JLM look even more guilty...at least in my eyes.

I want JLM to have the best attorney around, so that there is less chance a conviction would be appealed or overturned.

Can JM make some kind of deal telling where she is? I know in the Mickey Shunick case the perpetrator told where he had put her so he didn't get put to death.

JM's car has an aftermarket bodykit and rims on it. He might have purchased it used with that all on it already or, at one time in his life, he actually cared about his care and paid for the body work and paint job himself.

My husband is a car guy and I just texted him a picture of the damage on JM's car without telling him whose car it was. I just sent it with a caption saying 'what could cause this type of damage?'

He quickly replied, 'looks like someone took that thing off roading' then a minute later he said 'or jumped a curb and got stuck and tried to reverse. That would explain the missing chunk.'

So I called him to elaborate for me and he said if JM's car had hit another car there would be denting around the wheel well but the flat tire and the chunk of the bumper missing shows that he ran over a curb or a log or a rock or something and popped his tire and ripped a chunk off.

He's not been charged with a capital crime. I doubt there will be any deals offered or asked for unless he's charged with murder. IMO

She did. She was lost. She texted that she was lost. She texted a friend to come and get her because she was lost. The last text, at 1:20AM indicates that she believed she was at 14th and Wertland and still lost, even though that is a five minute walk from her apartment.

I have a question for those of you who have followed other cases:

If LE determines that HG was under the influence of recreational drugs (ecstacy/mdma/etc), do you think they would release that information to the public, or would they potentially withhold it out of deference to her family... not wanting to sully her character by revealing she took drugs...?

I ask because I hope that, even in the worst case scenario for HG, this tragedy could at least have the positive outcome of broadening the discussion among college-age kids about the dangers of drinking to excess and taking drugs. As the a parent of a college-age daughter, and as someone who remembers that feeling of invulnerability at that age myself, I know that most kids just don't take these dangers seriously enough. But I wonder if they'd hush up any illegal drug use? Thoughts?

(And for those of you who think that "good", smart, successful college girls don't take these sorts of drugs, I can tell you that you're absolutely wrong about that. I know several 4.0 GPA kids who attend top-tier and ivy league schools who take recreational drugs of all kinds, not just weed. It's a lot more common that you may think.)

LE may already know this from interviews with those at the party she attended. Since it does not play a role in looking for her, or for her abductor, there has been no reason to release it. If it has a place in the trial, it will be included in testimony.

So if they don't find Hannah (and I hope that's not true) eventually will they charge him with murder if there is evidence that something happened?
