Right, we may not be thinking about them, but can we say a victim/survivor won't be more hesitant to come forward now?
If this were to be a setback I feel we have come so far that short of a dictatorship taking over the country, a setback is nearly impossible (referring to dictatorships that control & imprison women).

We (women) have publicly taken on large companies, high profile individuals, networks etc. There is no longer a complete lack of awareness on sexual harassment in the workforce. It’s now become the fabric of HR departments to implement an entire system for SA. I don’t see any company doing away with it. So the question of a setback is such that it’s not setback-able. I realize that there are individuals who are still going to buck the system.

There will always be some victims who are afraid to come forward regardless of a setback or set-forward. But we are no longer talking about being the first to do & say anything. There is history and time that we can point to. The Me too movement has had a positive impact within the domestic realm also. It has provoked further discussion on better ways to help women.

If Johnnys or another male‘s case were to be overturned it would be a significant setback for the men-too movement because there is no history yet to fall back on. It would make a male feel more hesitant in going forward. That’s the difference between the two.

For any organization that claims Ambers case is a setback, is negating all that has been done.

Johnny Depp–Amber Heard Trial: Why I Couldn’t Turn It Off

Op-Ed on Oprah Winfrey site:

Take note: I am well acquainted with “the wrath our culture levels against women who speak out” about their painful experiences at the hands of powerful men. Amber Heard may have cast herself in the role of Warrior Woman, waging battle against the oppression of the patriarchy.

But after six weeks of paying careful attention to the testimony—an experience very different from watching a few highlights—I came to the same conclusion as that rendered yesterday by the jury. In no way is Amber Heard my “ambassador,” nor is she the representative of the brave women writers I continue to work with.

A number of Hollywood A-listers have thrown their support behind Johnny Depp following Thursday’s trial verdict, flocking to “like” his Instagram statement posted to mark the end of an explosive six weeks in court.
Stars including Jennifer Aniston, Paris Hilton, Rita Ora, Taika Waititi, Emma Roberts and Molly Shannon gave Depp’s celebratory message a nod, according toBuzzfeed News. As did Ian Somerhalder, Zoe Saldana, Jason Momoa, Kelly Osbourne, Vanessa Hudgens, Gemma Chan, Henry Golding, Halle Berry, Naomi Campbell, Liv Tyler and Juliette Lewis.
Musician and activist Cat Power also gave her support via a “like”, along with legendary singer-songwriter Patti Smith, and Euphoria musician/actor Dominic Fike — who courted controversy last week for remarking on stage that he’d fantasised about Heard “beating him up”.

Also a very interesting "like" from art dealer Vito Schnabel (one of AH's boyfriends post JD break up)

I can’t believe EB is so out of touch she doesn’t realize everyone is sick of AH’s lies and BS. I think we all know that is NOT the first thing AH said to her, and I personally doubt she said it at all. Why does EB seem so desperate?
I can lay you ten to one that EB fears AH suing her..with that said, EB put herself in this precarious situation knowing full well who Amber is. MOO

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the exes had in fact reached out to him personally.

I definitely think the other chap, Mr objection, hearsay! did. By the end of the last week he looked like he realised he was on the wrong table and she may have just tanked his career. JMO
ITA. The look on Rottenborn's face was of extreme defeat and one could tell he was having a very hard time with the verdict. If he is smart, he will stay far away from her. MOO

That’s a very interesting thought and for her it’s not an abstract one. AH is going to go after anyone that stands in her way. Lying definitely cost her the case but I also think her attorneys contributed to the loss some. It’s difficult going up against stellar representation though these 2 teams were worlds apart.

Setting the tone for Johnny started before he walked in. Ben and crew were in place with all of their tools so they could be 100% eyes on Johnny as soon as he stepped in. He was met with hugs and bows. In doing so they contributed significantly to Johnnys mental and emotional well being. Having that genuine support everyday goes a long way.

Elaine and friends were up and down, scurrying back and forth between each other and flipping through folders. I didnt see anyone pulling the chair out for Amber. The 3 of them had an off and on sense of panic throughout. Conciously or sub-consciously, its felt. So I can see her comparing the difference between her and Johnnys counsel and wanting to inflict wrath on Elaine.

If AH's defense was paid for by her ins co, did AH select her attys or did the ins co assign them?

Poor Angenette is losing her voice.
She’s doing a great job in reporting ALL the aspects of this case imo.

This video is great, thank you for posting. L&C network should be commended. And I had no idea Adam Waldman gave nice shout out to the youtube lawyers, etc and love that he slammed MSM. I never expected this but honestly, the MSM coverage of this trial has been a joke and it has made it official for me. I am done with MSM. I hope the groundswell of youtube reporting takes over.

Never heard of L&C until this case. I like it.

From your post^^^I think the author did well with putting her observations in words.

“But it was more than Heard’s off-putting demeanor and delivery that called her charges into question. Again and again over the six weeks of the trial, testimony of expert witnesses and those familiar with the couple—as well as Heard’s own contradictory statements—made it hard to see her as the abused woman she portrayed herself to be, the terrified victim of an abusive husband. Throughout the trial, she struck me—as she evidently did the jury—as a woman not so much recounting actual events as playing a role. When she wept on the stand, her beautiful face contorted into what looked like a not particularly skillful impersonation of pain. More than once, when she delivered a dramatic piece of testimony, she paused for a second, as if to allow cameras to capture the moment. They did“

I think more and more info will be coming out now that the verdict went a certain way. I hope that those previously victimized by AH finally get the chance to tell their stories without fear of being sued by her now.

Look at this little nugget someone else found from 2016, a mere few weeks after that TRO:

Amber Heard rejects spousal support because it required mutual restraining order

Amber Heard has reportedly rejected spousal support of $50,000 a month for eight months from Johnny Depp – because the terms of the agreement allowed him to gain a restraining order against her.
