VA - Johnny Depp's defamation case against ex Amber Heard, who countersued #14

Where did the Heard team get the idea that the jury summons was for the elderly father? The legal team must have neglected to see the actual summon in question.
That is a very good question.

Maybe Eve Barlow did the research like she did when she got Gina kicked off the stand. Seriously though did Elaine really think Judge A wasn't going to check the summons

Judge Denies Amber Heard's Request For Mistrial In Johnny Depp Case

A judge has rejected a request from actress Amber Heard to set aside the $10 million judgment awarded against her in favor of her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.

A judge has denied all of Amber Heard's motion to have the verdict of her blockbuster defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp thrown out and the case re-tried.

Judge DENIES Amber Heard's motion to have verdict of trial thrown out

As she should. It was like everything AH has done throughout. The motions were exaggerated and full of misstatements of fact, something the defense attorneys should be sanctioned for at this point. A mistake is a mistake, but when you repeatedly misstate facts as an officer of the court it is an issue. For instance, way back in closing arguments. EB stated as fact that AH couldn't pay the charities because SHE had paid over 6 million in legal fees due to this suit. EB KNEW exactly who was paying her bills, and she knew it was travelers insurance and not Ms. Heard. That right there should have prompted a complaint to the VA bar. MOO

Everything that came after was just more literal GRUMPY (to use JD vernacular) and EB should be ashamed of her conduct. Accusing jurors of being influenced by SM. Accusing the judge of questionable rulings throughout, doubling down on the defamation by going on TV interviews.

It is very sad what this attorney has been reduced to since taking on her client. And now she is becoming a laughingstock. She is a very experienced and WAS highly respected attorney.

BTW, I note in the juror questionnaire, 15 did not misstate his age. It is my understanding the jury duty notifications went out, two individuals sharing the same name resided there. One of those appeared for court, showed and did so in good faith, believing they had been summoned to do so. Once again, EB tries to spin some conspiracy that doesn't exist all because nobody believes her client.
The fact that EB continues this foolishness makes me very sad for her. I have come to believe recently that EB is a true believer in AH's rubbish. She is ruining her reputation and possibly her career by continuing with this farce. IMO

I couldn't agree more with every single word of this.
It does make you wonder, if AH has the same or similar damaging, toxic, devastating affect on everyone that comes into her life. Especially if they don't do everything she expects them to.
Gah, what a trainwreck this woman is.

You go judge! In that written order, Azcarate rejected all of Heard's claims and said the juror issue specifically was irrelevant and that Heard can't show she was prejudiced. Boom! Bam!

Have some/all of the documents been released on the court website? I'm curious about the ones whatshername wanted sealed. (Well, first she wanted them released so we could see all that unseen evidence  but then decided she didn't want them released.)

Yep, I think so. Or at least it's coming very soon. I saw a summary document of what was being unsealed and what was staying sealed (and the reason - usually personal contact info or medical details). Someone has already posted an arrest or release document from the DV incident in Seattle 2009 with her ex wife. There's also an indication that AH may have tried to settle on March 22nd. The motions in limine should be the interesting stuff.

Yes, I'd like to know more about the potential settlement negotiations. I doubt that JD wanted to settle at any point.

I am beginning to think she just wanted to get her “story” out to the press and try to sway the public that this conspiracy was real. Jump up and down and scream loud enough, maybe someone will believe her even though no one believes her client. I think EB is too far down the rabbit hole to climb back out to reality.

Moral of the story: JD and his lawyers are all people of integrity.

AH and Elaine, at minimum, not so much.

Corollary: when Ben Chew tells you a motion/contention is baseless nonsense, he means it is baseless nonsense that would be understood from outer space, lol. This isn’t some “in my biased opinion” statement on his part.

Johnny Depp made one cancer survivor's dream come true in 2011 when the Make-A-Wish Foundation reached out to the long-time supporter to ask if he would grant her wish to meet.

Now the actor has penned a heartfelt foreword to a children's book written by that same cancer warrior.

Katie Vandrilla, 31, is the author of children's book Thumper's London Adventure and a leukemia survivor who flew to London to meet her 'hero' Johnny Depp on the set of Tim Burton's Dark Shadows.

And more than a decade later, Depp is continuing to offer his support by writing the foreword for Vandrilla's latest children's book that hits shelves July 20. He wrote the sweet note on June 17 in Paris, just weeks after his victory against ex-wife Amber Heard.

'For my dearest Katie, For her dear family and friends,' the foreword begins. 'And for all the dear children out there, and for all their dear family and friends, that need that little bit of extra care and understanding right now.

'Please know that you are loved and that we are thinking of you all!

'With all my love, my respect and my good wishes to you, always, Johnny.'

Exactly, this case is a clear example of the difference in integrity. I’m sure AH was jealous about JD counsel. They served him well all the way around, lawfully and mentally.

I noticed even Sean sometimes greeted Camille with a kiss in the morning as they walked in the courtroom. The fortress of support from the Ben Chew team was intangible. That goes so far but especially so in the case of opposing spouses.

I’m not sure which company’s agent was in court everyday with AH but I did notice the woman seemed to be embarrassed or uncomfortable at times when AH was on the stand. There was a definite awkwardness about her. She probably felt the way we did.

Who’s Sean? I forgot.
