Where is the Defense going with this, besides eating up time?

Can someone explain to me why the prosecutor is not wearing a business suit? She was wearing a sweater hoodie type thing yesterday as well. I'm surprised this judge allowed that. She seems strict. It's a bad look to me. I'm also noticing in this case and the Kevin West case (the firefighter battalion chief) that these prosecutors are doing very little to humanize the victims. It all sounds so technical.

I noticed that too.

It doesn't match decorum nor the seriousness of court.

There is nothing casual about justice.

With all due respect, the Dedense attorney is coming off like a substitute teacher who doesn't know how to operate the AV equipment. The judge has to help him with numbering his own exhibits. Long pauses. Feels very disorganized.

And also distateful.

Implying that JR's injuries to his hand occurred in the commission of a knife attack as opposed to being the real victim of one.

I think this is the CV for defense counsel. Only fyi.

This defense is about as bad as the double murder trial I was on a couple of months ago in an adjacent county. In my trial they showed (or re-showed) 2 pieces of evidence and rested their case. They didn't even talk about what they showed, I think they just wanted to remind the jury of those 2 things. I also felt they did this purposely to be able to appeal the verdict. That this first trial was almost like a test run to see what the jury came back with and how to re-work their case for appeal.

It was really strange.

As for clunky, I was surprised at how clunky my trial was. The prosecution had to call back a detective to clean up one question about the number of bullets in the gun. I had written down on my notes "WTF? How many bullets were there???" So I was glad they cleaned that up. We also had a 3 hour delay because the clerk numbered all the evidence wrong.

It is definitely not like tv.

I'm catching up.

Went is the DEFENSE eliciting testimony about catfishing?????

JR was catfished.

How does this testimony help BB?

If we can put this together, then so can the jury.

JMO
I really hope so. That is why the defense objected so much to any attempt of her father to mention the blood clotting disorder imho.

I really admire this Judge. She keeps to a rigid schedule in her court room. She is decisive and pleasant. Minimal time is wasted. I don't think that the trial will take the 4 weeks that were blocked off for it. (Pretty obvious.)
At this point it may be half that.

@4:05 Eastern time and they are done for the day. Judge is hoping for a blizzard, I think, so they can have a long, long weekend!

I wondered the same thing, so didn't listen to the testimony of that witness. I don't have a clue?!

The Judge just now assured the court that they will be done by Monday, February 2, 2026 -- she promised the jurors!

My theory --

Defense is putting up filibuster witnesses to put distance between the State's case and jury deliberation.

If it confuses the jury, so much the better for the defendant. Maybe they'll confuse confusion for reasonable doubt.

I don't think it'll work.

She posted the photo on social media that had a restricted friends list. The photo in room photos were post killings.

On Ctv they said it was before the crime. Must have been a mistake because it doesn’t make sense.

Judge Penny is a great judge. She put a 6 week “circle” around the Depp trial saying that she was firm and that it would not go past the 6 week “circle”. She was perfect for that trial.

Whoa.

Defense just asked for a 5 minute recess (they didn't have the right exhibit loaded iiuc).

She's answered no.

Message received.

He mentioned that a particular detail was on a third page…that he didn’t have with him🤣 He only had the first two pages and he said he would bring it later. The judge said well if it isn’t here it can’t be part of anything! If I was an attorney I would be too embarrassed to even bring up a missing page!

Will Page 3 ever show up? I don't necessarily believe that was accidental.
