Pleas (sweetheart) deals happen all the time. Once they have compelling evidence, it's often in the State's best interest toward the prosecution of one suspect to sacrifice the prosecution of the other.

Defense is trying so hard to say that LE somehow used J to fit the evidence to a narrative when the reality is that the evidence didn't fit B or J or B &J's narrative.

Defense is off on the land of make believe. J's eventual confessions make sense of the existing evidence!

IMO all the Defense is doing, despite its efforts otherwise, is showing that BOTH B and J are guilty, and nothing about some other murderer -- including J as a solo agent -- being involved.

He is stopping short -- but at the threshold IMO -- of accusing LE in coaching J in order to wrongly implicate B.

When the reality is that J initially lied, then when confronted with damning evidence, decided to come clean (or partially clean), yes, to get a deal, but her testimony makes sense of the evidence. It didn't invent any.

Assuming he did what he's accused of, it's no surprise to me that he would do whatever he could to get out of this. It's not surprising his attorney is going to these lengths to create doubt (or illusion) of LE corruption or wrongdoing.
It feels like these witnesses are able to show how the evidence proved the theory and the au pair just helped piece it together, not the other way around. Wondering what the jury thinks.

He just said he doesn't know if he'll be done tomorrow. He has potentially three more witnesses. The judge wants to be done with witnesses tomorrow to do closing arguments after the snow.

Well at this point I wouldn't be surprised if the prosecutor shows up wrapped in a blanket for tomorrow.

That is gut wrenching. Who knows what the child witnessed.
