Witness just testified that if two of the members of a household aren't home, then it's reasonable that the third one was using the device, but that's a fallacy. How can he KNOW the two aren't home? They could have manipulated their devices in order to appear elsewhere!

A seasoned expert should know that. Digital Forensics 101.

They had a RUSE. The RUSE was to make it look like CB was setting up s fetlife account, posting her swimsuit try-on to the website, and arranging for what would be her own murder.

It was a shell game for BB and JM.

I can see them setting up the account, nearly getting found out by two-step verification, racing to CB's device to verify the link, then delete, while CB was otherwise occupied (no doubt, of their doing).

Digital forensics is the new DNA. BB would know that.

Which is why he invented a SODDI scheme and charaded as CB in order to stage murder. Once you see the scheme, it's obvious what he was up to.

With all due respect, I think this witness knows that but put his professional reputation on the line with his analysis and doesn't want to back down, which would mean he'd have to admit he was wrong and that he was initially duped by BB and JM.

He cannot say with certainty that CB made those searches.

The State could have hit harder, but even with the light swing, IMO they undid two days of his testimony in less than ten minutes on cross.

And when the judge tried to gently correct him he doubled down. Finally the defendant said "born" and got annoyed and asked him to re-ask his question and he corrected himself. Has he had a stroke recently? I can't think of what's wrong with him. And the prosecutor's house must've burned down and she's had to borrow clothes for this trial.
