VA - Joseph Ryan shot, Christine Banfield stabbed, both deceased, in home - Herndon 24 Feb 2023

The picture he's painting IMO is so much worse.

The real truth is he didn't expect her to do be alive. So I believe him, he had his hands on her neck.

But for different reasons.

He's trying so hard to make it seem like CB gave him permission to have his hands on her neck.

This is horrifying.

Agree. The only talking Christine did was before she was stabbed when she warned Brendan that Joseph had a knife told Juliana to call 911 after Brendan shot Joseph.

I picture Christine's shock and horror when Brendan then began to stab her, and her pleading for her life and asking why.
Knowing how a loved one died can be as devastating as having lost them.
Like a one-two punch.

She was always coughing?

His father doesn’t look like he is believing what BB is saying?

He searched the large room. Wide open room. Didn't see anyone.

There was a bedroom but I guess he didn't look in there. Oh, wait, now he did.

Wha huh?

He thought someone was in the house but he let Juliana and his daughter come in the basement.

This is outrageously not credible.

He should have taken a plea and had the money his family spent for lawyers for him and JPM go to his young child’s care, imho.

I'll bet he applied pressure.

The most horrifying detail yet.

But then he couldn't relive this scenario in front of an audience, so everyone could see he got a hot au pair and to humiliate CB.

I think he's enjoying himself.

If he wanted to save her life, he would have carried her down the stairs and met the paramedics in the yard --

The prosecution started this court day saying they want to call a rebuttal witness (T. Patrick Smith) after hearing the defense testimony yesterday. Any information on this witness or what he will testify to?

According to STS that new rebuttal witness that reached out is an IRS attorney and something about that meeting he was supposed to attend.

I think they aborted the first 911 call because CB was still alive.

What he is describing IMO are NOT life-saving measures. IMO he was trying to kill her before first responders arrived.

It's the first credible testimony from him. He is describing what happened but trying to spin it altrustically

He had to create the vignette while CB and JR were alive. They hid CB's phone from her. He gave JR time to get in the house, then IMO forced him into the bedroom. I don't know exactly how the rest happened. Possibly it took both of them to force JR into the position they needed him.

I will never get the image of BB kneeling over his dying wife out of my head. Applying pressure to her neck. That he has taken such care in relating how CB wanted his hand there is utterly self-serving. IMO he tried to strangle her while she was dying.

Poor poor poor CB.

Poor poor poor loved ones of CB, having to hear this.

The shock CB must have suffered as her brain tried to make sense of what was happening. I doubt she ever really figured it out - except to feel complete fear, betrayal, pain, helplessness.

Horrific.

Fortunately the defense is absurd.

Good Morning!
Because of work I have only been able to listen to the state's opening statement in this case. Is this a prosecutor that we can rely on to go all in on the defendant during cross examination? Just curious.

Moo; Moo.

I think she will.

So the man of every detail sure collapsed the 15 minutes between 911 calls. (Was it 15? 11?)

Does he think everyone will forget about that outrageous gap in time?

He says he was worried, scared...

Felt like he was having trouble breathing.

His leg was spasming.

Sheesh.

He says he "went down" on the floor. Was hyperventilating.

His wife is dying of stab wounds but he's focused on himself.
