Saw the Amber Alert on the traffic signs on I95 & I495 in Fairfax County this morning.

Regarding the delay…Is it possible that they just received video footage that shows an abduction? Did the parents get a phone call of abduction?

I’m very happy to see an AA went out. But I thought there had to be a vehicle description to issue? So many cases, they refuse to issue - so not complaining - just asking.

I was looking for this as well, but don't see any.

I also didn't see any details of what the alarming circumstances were.

I'm presuming if this were a custody dispute, there would be some indication of that on the posters. I'm wondering if there was any bullying at school that's going to come out. I know it's possible that he was abducted for the same reason that young women of his age are, however, with his height and slightly older appearance I think I'm biased in thinking that's not the most likely explanation here.

The school was closed yesterday for students. This might be why it was reported late.

Virginia Beach Asynchronous Day
Virginia Beach City Public Schools: On Friday, January 24, the schools operated on an asynchronous learning day, meaning students completed assignments at home without a set time for instruction.
Reason for Asynchronous Learning Day: The decision was made due to winter weather conditions, but the school division did not have enough days remaining in the calendar to allow for a traditional snow day and still meet state education requirements.
Impact on Students and Staff: Students were required to complete online assignments, and staff were also affected by the asynchronous learning day, with Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence noting it as a “new frontier” for learning when students cannot be in schoo

Virginia Beach Police said Saturday that officers were dispatched to Mica Avenue on Friday around 9 p.m. for a missing person report, and that the missing child’s parents believed he was at a friend’s house.

While searching, officers said additional information led them to handle the case as an abduction. During the investigation, officers submitted an Amber Alert request to Virginia State Police shortly after 2 a.m. State Police reviewed it before issuing an alert early Saturday morning.
