Ugh, I don’t know how to link but a body was recovered in the ponds near his house.

Oh no, not at all the outcome I was hoping for.

Looks like the pond is iced over, hoping he didn’t fall in
I didn’t even think of that, but you’re right, it’s a possibility.

I wonder if he was fooling around on the ice and it cracked. That's completely something a 12 year old would do.

Also, since I live here as I said earlier, an iced pond is a total novelty to local kids. We had snow for the first time in a couple of years last week.

Sad ending but maybe no foul play at all. Just a terrible, terrible accident with Noone around to save him.

Accidental drowning is tragedy enough but it would be worlds less awful than abduction and murder.

My sympathy to his family.

Police didn't elaborate on the circumstances surrounding Acevedo's death, but Chief Neudigate said he thinks the ice that formed during the recent cold weather "played a big role."

Oh how awful. So sorry to see this outcome.

Perhaps he thought he'd play a bit on the ice before heading to his planned destination? I can imagine the 12-year-old boys I know doing that...

Rest in peace.

How did this qualify for an Amber alert? I know Juan was young, but there's no car description, no 'abductor' description, no video of him going anywhere with anyone.

And how he was found suggests misadventure, an accidental death alone.

MOO

Wonder what made them think he had been kidnapped.
