TY!

That link didn't work for me
found this one:

http://www.wavy.com/dpp/news/local_news/newport_news/police-say-missing-woman-is-endangered-

Does it say the phone goes to voicemail? I am up way earlier and my brain is a big ball of useless cotton so I could have missed it.

SBM

Your article link is an update of the one I posted last night. In the article I read, the family said they have tried calling her cell phone and it goes directly to voice mail. I don't know why it has been deleted in the update, as it seems to be a fairly important piece of information, IMO.:waitasec:

Please don't think bad of me for saying this but what another poster said is true. It's not a great neighborhood (there aren't many in Newport News). I don't get the feeling her neighbor that made that comment had anything to do with her disappearance. He's probably just uneducated and well, when I listened to it I wasn't even sure if he used the past tense. I'm from Hampton Roads (lived here all my life) and some of us use very poor grammar (i.e. making words plural that shouldn't be; using "they" when talking about one person; using the wrong tense).

I have suspicions about her occupation too but like you said right now she's a victim. Doesn't make any less important that she's found. She's someone's daughter, sister, etc.

Wanted to check around and also on here before I headed to bed. Sigh, nothing new of substance.
Tomorrow is a new day, I hope it is a blessed one for Kathleen and her loved ones.
Prayers going up tonight for a new dawn light.

Considering that whoever wrote the article left out entire words in some sentences... I don't think I can criticize the neighbor for using past tense. In fact, he could have misspoke.

Re: the items that were taken from her home... there are always some details that LE will not reveal, in case someone abducted and harmed her, it would be something that only the perp would know.

Her dog is missing. It's a boxer.

Her previous address in Newport News was off of Old Courthouse Way. Just as the area she's in now, it has a reputation for being a little dangerous, more so during the time she lived there.

None of my Facebook accesses will even let me search her name. Any other one, i get a pile of results... her's 7 on the drop down but zero if I click for more options. That's interesting to me.

I've mined Craigslist for ads for any type of services/posts that track back to the phone numbers I was able to find, with nothing tracking back. That's not to say she doesn't have other numbers that may be there.

Weather wise, there was a high of 91 and low of 78, high humidity and no rain. So it's conceivable that she took the dog out for a much needed romp after several days of bad weather. With water front right there....

bump bump for Kathleen. Light and love for her loved ones tonight and praying tomorrow they get some answers, hopefully positive ones!

I was wondering about a pet earlier today when talking to my husband about her - could he have run outside while her front door was open IF she was abducted. Or if she was injured in the house, the dog could have tried to protect her and he could have been hurt or killed and been taken away with Kathleen to avoid suspicion and get rid of evidence. :( What a terrible, cruel thought!:maddening::maddening:

I've heard that dogs run when frightened (saw an article on hurricanes and it said cats will stay close to home but a dog will run until exhausted). Could her dog have been frightened by whatever happened and started to run. Maybe they need to post a pic of the dog too so that people could be on the lookout for him/her.

Her facebook seems to be pretty much all locked down and private. Smart girl. Mine is as well because I don't want my life open for the world to know about, I don't understand people who think the world needs to know everytime they go to the bathroom or anything else absurd. Not a huge facebook fan, can ya tell?

Was her house emptied about or were just a few items missing? Seems up for debate and interpretation.

Per google maps, her house appears to be next to a heavily overgrown vacant lot/woods.

Op/Ed piece but no new info.

I am down in the Newport News area for a wedding this weekend, but not terribly close to where she lives and I have no idea (nor does her family as reported) where she works. Unfortunately, not too close enough to do any worthwhile sleuthing and to best honest, I wouldn't even know how do to what I could do to help.

The area she lives in is def not a great area and from googlemaps you can get an idea of what it is like.

Why does her family not know where she works? I wonder if it's something she could have been placed in danger by doing :( I hope not!

The Google Earth imagine is from 2007, is that a for sale or for rent sign in the yard??

The dog is a boxer, around 9-12 mos old from the photos dated 8/23. There's a crate in the back ground, so it's probably crate training. Not a likely candidate for wandering off.

I'm guessing the jewelry pics are significant of selling custom jewelry. The weird guy in the ugly shirts... no clue.

Wasn't there a series of unsolved cases in Virginia -
not sure if this is this thread:
VA VA - Leyla Namiranian, 41, Chesterfield, 4-April-2012 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Oh no. I didn't read through the entire tread but I read that Leyla could have met someone online and gone to meet him in person. I hope Kathleen didn't meet someone online, too.

I hate that her dog is missing, too. Can we get that added in the thread title? Like "Kathleen Haley, 37, and Dog, Newport News, 1 Sept. 2012"?

I do know there is a 24 (at the time) year old woman missing from Newport News from around 2003. No one appears to be looking for her though she is on the missing and exploited website. An interesting tie in there is that on the surface, though younger, she shares some similarities to Ms. Haley. Her name is Autumn Day.

Some other missing persons from the region are listed below.

There seem to be quite a few missing women around the area.

Scary.....

Kathleen, where are you?

The latest article from Pilot-Online includes a composite of a person of interest, seen near her place on 9/4 and verifies that her one year old female boxer is missing as well.

Since Kathleen's boxer is missing, it sure seems like she may have been taken while walking her dog. It would be interesting to know if she was in the habit of walking her dog in the same area all the time.

I sure hope the release of the composite picture will generate some leads.
