amazing.. when I check the three local news stations the sketch of this guy is nary to be found on a front page...

wonder how they expect to find the guy if the media doesn't assist in getting his picture out there?

I wondered about the blood possibly being canine blood, too.

If Kathleen's boxer was present when Kathleen was attacked, it seems like the dog would have made a lot of noise - growling, barking, whining, etc. Did neighbors hear anything like that? I haven't seen it reported, but I could easily have missed something.

August 22: last seen (well per the media article)
9 days later
September 1: last heard from
(was supposed to be at sister's for dinner that night)
three days later
September 4: man in sketch seen at her apartment carrying possible bedding out of it
somewhere in between family goes to her apartment and finds car unlocked (not like her)
September 7: reported missing by family
11 days later
September 18: sketch of man seen on the 4th is released as well as affidavit which includes information that blood was found in her apartment as well as her bed and part of carpet and her computer was missing


trying to put together a bit of a timeline to try and see the bigger picture

I'm local and I did see the composite sketch on WAVY this a.m.

The guy's hair makes me think possibly military. We have Air Force, Navy and Marines in our area. Of course there could be Army too.

I think (JMO) that Haley worked at a gentleman's club also. I know a lot of the women that work there are private (especially with customers) for safety reasons.

I think if this man is responsible for her disappearance he either took the dog with him or he let it loose somewhere. Hopefully, both Haley and her dog will be found safe soon...but I have doubts for Haley with the condition of her apartment.

In one of the articles that was posted I read the comments below the article and someone had posted that she worked at the GO GO Bar in Newport News. From the google search of the bar all I am going to say is that it wasn't a family bar. Wondering if this guy frequented the GoGo Bar and followed her home one night she turned him down and he got mad. I had really hoped that she just took off on her own but now with blood found on walls and clothing. A mattress with blood found in a dumpster I don't feel the outcome is going to be one that we will like.

Sounds like a patron of this bar either targeted her OR got her attention to maybe even spend time with him. Probably sexually motivated and any resistance, he attacked.

I hope they find him and her family gets justice.

And hopefully her pup is found safe. Maybe the perp took the dog. Some people are weird. He may have hurt a person but not an animal. Or if the dog was trying to protect her, he could have hurt the dog.

Some people disgust me.

The only place I found Go Go's was Bucks Go Go's (that is at the entrance to Fort Eustis) is that the right place? Or does she work at a bar closer to her home?

Leighmarker, believe me there are a lot more strip clubs in Newport News than Bucks Go Go. I did a google search and there were at least twenty-five in Hampton Roads (probably more). Just recently there was a sting that netted about thirteen prostitutes and Johns. I'm not saying Haley is a prostitute by any means. I'm also not saying that the military is the only clientele that frequents strip clubs but I do think because of the high number of military we might have more than most areas.

I get the feeling that this man definitely knows her by wherever she works. I wonder if it was the first time the neighbors (or whoever reported seeing this man) had seen him? Even if she had a relationship with this guy her family/friends might not know it since she seemed to keep her life private from even them.


BTW, Strip clubs are restricted to dancers wearing bikinis here.

IMO I think she worked at one of the strip clubs that would be reason not to tell family. This guy comes in he talks to her thinks she is a prostitute follows her home or she invites him to her house because she liked him. Him thinking she is a prostitute he is going to get lucky. Instead she says no he gets mad and violent.

The only reason I asked about Bucks was because of the name "bucks go go's" I couldnt find another joint with just Go Go's. I know there are a lot of bars in Hampton Roads, I would like to concentrate on the ones closer to the shipyards and her address. I can't believe she would actually walk alone out of one of those bars at night (closer to the shipyards).

I thought I read she was a bartender somewhere-I hope people she worked with would come forward to LE.They would possibly know if she knew this guy or saw him in the bar.
I think that is why he probably tried to clean up

Somehow I overlooked this in a recent article regarding the man's sketch:

She said the man was yelling at her and that she'd seen him more than once at the complex.

sorry for multiple postings... i came across this news article that has a VERY informative video that shows which apartment complex she was living in AND the dumpster that the missing mattress was found in by police. If this has already been posted please let me know and I'll remove this post. (I'm exhausted and may have missed it.)

It says in the above article, "Family say Haley was extremely private and all they know is that she worked in a bar, they don't know which one."

So.. now we at least know she was working at a bar somewhere..


I also read that her car hasn't moved but that the drivers seat in her car was pushed all the way back and since she's a tiny woman I can't imagine she was the last one to drive her car which would lead me to believe that whoever made her disappear used her vehicle to transport her out of her apartment. How was this not seen? Maybe one of those mini marts on West Ave. have a camera pointed out towards the street?

Actually, I believe Kathleen is 4'11".

ETA: I need to correct myself. I am seeing her described as 4'11", 5'0", 5'10" and 5'11"! I'd say 4'11"-5'0" would be right.

Gotta hope LE has gotten hold of any and all surveillance video then can get - surveillance video is what helped solve Mickey Shunick and Sierra Lamar abductions..

Lack of video for Kelli Bordeaux, Karen Swift, and Holly Bobo cases, and those go on unsolved..

How could someone could take a bed out without being noticed?
Not easy to do alone... Don't think I've ever seen a case in which something as large as a bed was removed by someone who was not actually living with victim.
