I've checked NamUs Unidentified entries, nothing seems to be a match for Kathleen.

I want to add her to Virginia missing persons websites, but since I am not LE, a family member or the person who filed the missing persons report with LE, I am not allowed to do so. I've contacted Det. William Gordon, who is working this case, to see if he will submit Kathleen's info to those websites.

Still waiting to hear from CUE to see if they can stir up some interest in Kathleen's case.

ETA: The NamUs entry mentions jewelry Kathleen was wearing a homemade gemstone necklace and small stud earrings.

Also, here is a missing persons poster for Kathleen. The photo on the poster looks quite different that the photo used in the newspaper articles.

I have been following the story of human remains found earlier this month in Virginia Beach, VA. We have a thread for it here on WS:

I e-mailed the Virginia Beach PD today and gave them Kathleen's info and the link to her NamUs entry.

Virginia Beach is about a 50 minute drive from Newport News.

I just received an e-mail from the Virginia Beach PD regarding the human remains discovered earlier this month.

They informed me that the remains were determined to be male.

So it's good news/bad news - good news it isn't Kathleen, bad news we still don't know where Kathleen is.

I'll keep on looking.

I haven't heard any updates on this case. I sure hope LE is just keeping the information close to the vest and it's not going to end up a cold case.

I wish her family would look toward more media attention.

It's almost as if no one cares whether she's found or not. I care. I wish there was something we could do. I wonder if LE has information that they're just not putting out to the public? I hope so. We need to find her and she needs justice, her and her dog.

So sad, one of the lost as I think of them - those who's cases lack the spotlight of media attention and fade into darkness of obscurity.

OldSteve, do you think that IF the person responsible for her disappearance is in the military, that they might be waiting for this person to come back from deployment? Maybe they told the family to be quiet and that they had their guy? I guess it may be wishful thinking on my part. I guess if they had enough evidence to suspect someone in the military then they would just go get them. Not wait for them to come back to the US.

I hadn't considered that, good point!

I recently saw a case on one of the ID tv shows where LE actually went out to an aircraft carrier that a person of interest was deployed on to interview him.

But if a POI in this case were actually on the ground in a hostile environment? Yes, it does seem logical to wait.

Does anyone know how to go about getting a reward set up? I wonder if a reward might convince someone to talk.

I have tried unsuccessfully to make contact with Kathleen's sister via Facebook. I wish she would come on here and tell us what she knows.
