I want to add her to Virginia missing persons websites, but since I am not LE, a family member or the person who filed the missing persons report with LE, I am not allowed to do so. I've contacted Det. William Gordon, who is working this case, to see if he will submit Kathleen's info to those websites.

Still waiting to hear from CUE to see if they can stir up some interest in Kathleen's case.

I did get a response to an e-mail I sent to the Public Relations Officer for the Newport News PD. I asked him if there had been any progress on locating Kathleen. Below is his response:

Unfortunately, even though detectives diligently follow up on any information they receive, we have not located Ms. Haley.


I'm not surprised that the detectives haven't found Kathleen - they don't have much to work with since no one will talk. JMO

I would hope that if I and my dog ever went missing that my family would do everything in their power to find me. I can't understand her sister not responding to your message on Facebook. I know there are some kooks out there but she could respond even if she didn't want to give any information.

I think there's a very good chance they are. Because I can't think of any other reason why a family member wouldn't move heaven and earth to find a loved one missing under the same circumstances as Kathleen.

There's another missing woman from about 45 minutes where Kathleen lives, Diane Hartzog, who is 59. No one really seems to be looking for her, either.

Diane was found deceased, no foul play is suspected

Marilyninpa - I'm not sure if you're sending private messages through Facebook to the sister or posting on her page, but it seems more and more lately that any messages sent by someone not on your friends list are going to the folder labeled "other". Some people may not realize they have messages there for months since it's not going directly to their inbox.

There's another missing woman from Newport News- (there's not a lot of info about her).

I could be wrong, my impression is that there seem to be a lot of women missing VA (and some unsolved murders of women). I wonder if anyone more familar with the area & the VA cases has any thoughts on this.

I live in Hampton Roads and it's only my personal opinion but I wouldn't want to live in Newport News. I've often said that it would be news if there weren't a shooting, stabbing, killing in Newport News for one day.

Friends tell me that there are some nice areas of Newport News but I choose not to go there, especially at night.

From reading Candice's thread I get the feeling her disappearance might have something to do with an ex-boyfriend. Of course that's only my opinion also.

At this late date, does anyone think there would be any point in setting up a Find Kathleen Haley FB page?

I keep thinking if we can just stir up enough interest, someone might come forward with information.lease:

I don't think setting up a page could hurt. Maybe people do care and just don't know where to discuss her disappearance.

Like I said before I wish her family were more involved. Maybe they are behind the scenes. I just hate feeling like that she's just gone, like she was never here.
