UPDATE: The body found in a well in Fort Washington has been identified as Lenwood "Lenny" Harris, 53, of Alexandria, VA.

It's confirmed. This is so sad, I have tears in my eyes.

No news yet on a COD, just that the body has been identified as Lenny's.

Sleep peacefully Lenny. You did good and inspired a great many people who never had the pleasure or honor to meet you. May your family, friends and community find some measure of peace in the memories of all you gave of yourself selflessly.

Prayers and condolences to those who knew Lenny. Now we wait for justice.

Locals, please keep us posted of what you might see or hear on your local news stations.

I'm praying now an arrest occurs almost immediately.
This is one case I do not want to see unsolved.

RIP, Lenny...

Yes. A man who certainly deserves peace. Prayers to him and his family. I hope I can do at LEAST one good thing in his honor.

This. Totally.

Wishing peace for Lenny and his loved ones. And a thank you to whomever it was who gave the tip - whether for good motives, or just to make a deal for themselves, I'm just so glad they DID tell. I can't imagine that poor Lenny would ever have been found in such a place - at least not anytime soon.

So sad. :(

There's going to be presser tomorrow. I'll be at work, plus we don't have TV so if another local could post? Hollye? Dee? I'm sure, though, it will be updated online even if not carried 'live'.

Prince George’s and Alexandria police are planning a joint news conference Monday to discuss the case.

At least someone gave LE the info so he could be found. It does not sound like he would have been found otherwise.

I too am very grateful to the tipster. Lenny probably would have been found eventually, but it may have taken years or even decades. The house is vacant. It's unknown if it is on the market or when it might be. I imagine at some point an inspection of the well may have been done. We've read nothing to indicate it's an abandoned well.

Yes, I am very very grateful to the tipster. They may have given LE an opportunity to preserve evidence which may have been long since lost years or decades from now when someone next had a reason to inspect the well.

I'm also taking this very hard too. Lenny was an advocate like many of us, and someone who pours themselves out for others only to be a victim, really hurts.

I am really praying LE makes a very quick arrest in this one. This is one case I will be following until Lenny receives the justice he so deserves. Yes, I am here for the duration until this thread makes it to recently sentenced and beyond.

:praying:

Here's some more info about the press conference. The article is short so I can't quote any more than I have, but it says they will be discussing the investigation. I would soooooo love to hear about an arrest or a POI.

A joint news conference with the Alexandria Police Department has been scheduled at the Prince George's County Police Department Headquarters, multi-purpose room on Monday at 10:30 a.m.

I just began reading your story, Lenny, and now you have been found. It's not fair! You are a good guy and did so much good! I will remember you this way. Your family must be so proud of you! I pray for justice in your case and I hope you are at peace for a job well done! I pray for your family. There aren't words I can say to help them feel better but I hope they know people care.
