Man reported missing out of Augusta Co.​

Martin “Marty” Eugene Lampkin Sr., 52, was reported missing Sunday by a friend after he was last seen at this Waynesboro residence at around 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Lampkin is six-feet-five-inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. He was last seen with a red and gray striped shirt, khaki pants and work boots, according to the Augusta Co. Sheriff’s Office.

Augusta County man who had been reported missing found dead

A man reported missing Sunday night was found dead Monday morning by Augusta County Sheriff's Office deputies.

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a deceased male near Old Tower Lane Monday morning at 10:02 a.m.

Sheriff’s office deputies and members of Augusta County Fire and Rescue responded to the area and located the body, submerged in the river, a press release said. Investigators from the sheriff’s office identified the body as Martin "Marty" Eugene Lampkin Sr., 52, who had previously been reported as a missing person.
