LURAY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Several trails in the Shenandoah National Park are closed due to a search for a missing person.

The national park says there are 25 search personnel and a dog team from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management currently searching for 21-year-old Mateo Luis Cobo Zevallos.

Earlier this week, the Virginia State Police issued a Critical Missing Adult Alert for this man from Fairfax County.

The trails that are currently closed include Overall Run, Traces, Mathews Arm, Tuscarora, Beecher Ridge and Thompson Hollow.

the article doesn't mention why those trails are closed

The article mentions that his car was found in the park. All those trails are in the same vicinity, so it's likely they figure he went hiking somewhere nearby.

I don't know if it's standard procedure for SNP to close trails when doing search-and-rescue or if there's something specific about his circumstances that have them concerned.

Per his missing flier:
HIS DISAPPEARANCE POSES A CREDIBLE THREAT TO HIS HEALTH AND SAFETY AS DETERMINED BY THE INVESTIGATING AGENCY."

Sadly I don't think he went into the woods to go hiking.
