I keep checking here and hoping to see an arrest. This case sort of reminds me of the Jodi Parrack case from Constantine, Michigan. Totally different set of circumstances, but both cases involve young girls and LE who are not saying anything. It has been a long time with the Jodi Parrack case, yet no arrest. I guess we just have to be patient. I was never very good at that!

I keep checking for an arrest too.

I found this forum in searching for more answers to the case on Meghan. (Actually hoping to find out if someone was arrested for her murder.)

I live in Portsmouth (p-town) and used to live in the Simonsdale neighborhood/Maurice Ave. I did not know Meghan, but we attended the same church, Pinecrest Baptist.

*warning, slightly graphic*
I have heard lots of rumors of her death, but the main thing that remains the same is the fact that she was stabbed over 40 times, so bad that her head was almost detached due to the multiple stabbings in the neck. This young girl was not only vulnerable due to her age and height, but she also had a hormone dificiency that made her look like she was around 12 yrs old. The sad thing is that the girl attended an after school program at the local martial arts studio, but that day went home (as early release for exams) instead of going to the studio. (My guess would be she was hungry as the mac n cheese discussion on the news reflected.)

I am not one to spread gossip or rumors, especially in this case as I had a sister who was murdered at 16 yrs, so I know all to well how rumors fly around. I have friends who knew Meghan first hand and they are reliable friends. I have also heard of details, from unreliable sources, regarding some graphic details beyond the stabbings, but I do not know they are true, therefore I do not want to be part of the rumor mill. kwim?

I don't know about you locals, but after hearing about how she died, I can't stop myself from thinking what her final seconds in life was like? Imaging her step-dad being the first person to see what had become of his precious step-daughter? The mom reliving the final moments she spent with her daughter before she went to work? Or the last phone call Meghan ever made to her Mom. I am a Mom of a 2 yo girl and I keep thinking "What would I do if it were my daughter?"

I hope they find this person(s) as soon as possible, so the family can start to find some type of closure. As for my 16 yr old sister who was murdered, they did find the murderer and he served 20 years for her murder. To me, that was not enough time, because he raped my sister, who was not mentally up to par as she just came out of a coma and was going through therapy. Then he freaked out and strangled her death, and finally left her in a field in Suffolk for wild animals to clean up. Luckily, a farmer found her.

Anyway, I have written a whole book by now, but I just wanted to say, I was very saddened at the fact that our community lost a wonderful girl who had started to make a positive impact on the world.

sorry...double posted.

I've heard and read many of the same rumors myself. I've heard some really plausible ones and some that were just short of "aliens did it". I think it happens in all cases like this when police are just not saying anything at all.

Gayle,

I'm very sorry about your sister. I can't imgaine the pain your family as well as Meghan's must feel. I have a daughter too, just a little older than Meghan and she's also small for her age. I try not to think about what her last moments were like (although it's hard not to). I can't imagine how evil a person would have to be to harm a child, especially one that seemed as sweet as Meghan.

I have heard the same thing about her death but didn't post it because like you said it hasn't been verified by LE.

Everyone say a prayer or if you don't believe a prayer just positive energy (or whatever you can) to the family and to LE that they will find this person and he can be punished for what he has done.

Gayle,
Welcome to WS and I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I too heard that horrible rumor about Meghan, and Im sickened to hear it again (which prob means its true). This also shows how personal it was IMO. She was so tiny, she couldnt have put up that much of a fight.

All of us who are parents, and those who arent, go home today and give all the people in your life that you love or care about a hug and tell them that you love them. I make that a habit with my kids. You never know the last time you have the chance to do so-

God Bless Meghan's family and y'all too-

Welcome to Websleuths Gayle :blowkiss:

I am very sorry to hear about your sister and I fully agree that that SOB should have done life without parole no question about it.

Poor, poor Meghan. What a very heinous crime. I agree Chico that it does now sound personal with the exception that it could've been a drug crazed lunatic. In the Harvey case that was another reason that LE stated as to why they thought it was someone who knew them and not random. Don't know how much crazier someone could possibly be to do what those two did to that family.

Gayle,

I am so sorry to hear about your sister's death. So sad when they are so young. I agree with you that 20 years is not enough. Anyone who could do that should be locked up forever or given the death penalty, imo.

Hi Gayle,
I'm sorry for what you have been through w/ your own sister. I agree that 20 yrs isn't nearly enough for what he did. I'm sorry to have to welcome you w/ your post, but I'm sure we can value you insight. I myself have a 12 yr old dd, and I just cringe every time I read about yet another senseless murder.

Gayle,
My sincerest condolences to you.
I won't even pretend to know what you're been through. And you're right, 20 years wasn't nearly enough time.
