SBM - thank you. But it's not just children, sadly. Some adults (parents, teachers, leaders of all types even) are doing and saying things now that haven't been voiced or acted upon in the recent past because it has been NORMALIZED.

BINGO. You said it perfectly. I am just applying it to some adults as well.

IMO - This incident will be huge and we certainly have not heard the end of it.

Very sad for the victims. Some things, no matter how much therapy, can't be undone.

Sadly, I don't think it's going to be huge at all. I don't know how the parents of those victims don't go on a rampage. If you (the collective "you") don't think our kids are watching and adapting behaviors and attitudes from "authority" figures in society, you're kidding yourself.

Superintendent Patrick Kinlaw announced Thursday night at a school board meeting that in January the school division will look to hire a director of equity and diversity to implement long- and short-term cultural diversity plans . An equity and diversity task force made up of students, parents and community members also is in the works.

Advocate files federal complaint over locker room video at Short Pump Middle School

Lorraine Wright, a child advocate and CEO of the non-profit ‘I Vote for Me,’ recently asked the Office for Civil Rights to investigate.

“This is a crime,” she said. “A federal hate crime as well as felonious aggravated sexual battery; that shouldn’t go unaddressed.”
