I keep seeing a lot of comments regarding the fact that there are no security cameras at the JPJ Arena. This is not the case. The comment below is from a news article from Channel 3 News in Winchester, VA.dated 22 October, 2009. I have seen very few articles calling attention to the fact that there were cameras at the arena but apparently there are.

Contact with one of the close friends has revealed they too believed it was a contact she was meeting and she was as such "safe" (at the time).

i've always believe this, not that the contact was responsible or that there was a contact per se, but I have always thought (as I've said before) that there is more information that makes the friends lack of concern make sense. Good to hear that this maybe the case.

I could see losing a phone while dancing and not realizing. As for a purse or pocketbook, i used to never bring one anyone (still don't) i just cram things into my pockets or my partner holds onto them for me.

I know a lot of kids go to bars or concerts with just ID and money on them. At shows or concerts, excess baggage to bring can just get in the way. However with the outfit Morgan was wearing, it doesn't seem she had pockets, so i understand her choice on bringing a pocketbook.

Her purse has been described as a rather large black one with straps so that it could be worn like a backpack. It was reportedly found intact, and LE says with no sign of a struggle, but I'm now seeing unofficial accounts that one strap was torn.

I am just trying to catch up so forgive me if this is OT. But - today after work I drove by the banks on the corner at the end of Copeley Bridge. I drove around the buildings and looked for cameras. The only cameras I saw on the outside were pointed downward toward the ATM machines (which are also at the drive-thru window). I stopped in front of the building where they faced the road and looked to see if I could see cameras. I could not. Of course - if there are camera - now I look very suspicious. LOL

This leads me to believe that there is not video surveillance of Morgan hitch hiking.

She was walking with four young men then she crossed the street and in the RV lot she talked with three UVA basketball players. Then the basketball players got into her car and....what happened? She rejoined the four?

AFAIK nothing at all publicly there has been message board posting, but to me that is unrelieble and I would not bases anthing on it one way or the other.

She was walking with four young men, then was walking with three basketball players to Lannigan Field parking (where their cars were). They had what LE called a brief interaction, but I believe it involved being around a car in the Lannigan Field parking lot. Then the basketball players got into their cars (you said "her," but IKWYM) and...

It is reported they left in their cars (9:20)
It is reported she was then hitchhiking on the bridge (9:20-9:30)
It is reported that her purse was found the next morning, contents mostly intact, in the Lannigan Field parking lot

Is there anything else that has been reported confirmed by LE after hitchhiking on the bridge (whether you believe it or not), besides the purse?

In regards to the basketball players I feel that I have to speak my mind. And please know - that I am most definately biased in regard to this. I am the mother of a basketball player and have been a fan of college basketball for many many years.

A few years ago I helped a local Senior send tapes and apply to colleges. He got a full scholarship to play ball with a Division II school - a great opportunity for him. When he was a Junior in college he came home for a few weeks during the summer and was walking to a local grocery store. He was stopped by a couple of young girls who asked him to buy them alcohol. He talked to them, but refused to buy them anything. They first offered him sexual favors for the beer and then when he still refused - they called him nasty names. The next morning his mother woke him up to tell him that LE was there to arrest him. He was charged with statutory rape and crimes against nature. He was incarcerated and not able to go back to school his Senior year. He lost his scholarship and the entire town thought of him as a rapist. The trial lasted only a few days and he was found completely innocent. One of the girls even admitted on the stand that they had made up the story. BUT - this did not change the fact that he lost his scholarship and most importantly his reputation. No one in the town looks at him (or his family) in the same way...and I don't think they ever will.

Please, please, please think of this story as we discuss these young players. They have their entires lives/careers ahead of them. If they are guilty of anything at all - then I pray that they will face the charges and be convicted, but if they are innocent - I don't want them to suffer forever because of a chance meeting in a dark parking lot.

Thank you so much, now that i have the visual description i can picture it in my head exactly. This backpack/pocketbook like thing shouldn't have burdened her if she had to run unless it was filled with things and heavy.

If the strap was broken, i wonder if someone grabbed her by the strap, it broke and she broke free of the pocketbook kept running then got in a car up on the bridge.
If more than one person was involved, you could have one doing the chase being the bad guy and the other acting as a "good samaritan" who just so happens to be near the bridge in a vehicle to "save" her as she's running from the bad one.

I know it's a crazy scenario.. you never know in this world.

I wonder if LE saw her on camera? I'm sure they must have if she went outside alone, while most were inside the show, she would be easier to spot then, than if she were in the midst of a crowd.

LE should also see if there is anyone following Morgan around in the footage, also take note if anyone and what they look like etc exist the arena after Morgan goes outside.

Have they searched inside that arena? I mean remember Annie Le? She was found into a wall. I assume that Arena is huge. Cause I just find that weird that there would be no footage of her outside the Arena.

This seems to get more confusing as we go. The more people are brought into this mix the more we say "what"?
I read somewhere that one of the basketball players was having academic problems and not working up to his potential. The other one I heard was interested in being recruited into the NBA. Of course is this true...who knows. My point is I agree with Secret Agent Mom we have to be extremely careful in who we point our finger at. I do think everybody here has been talking about the facts only..where she was, what she did, who she ran into. Actually I find my self wondering about that 44 year old guy that called his wife and said "a blonde talked to me"..Huh. He should be looked at.

The other part of this puzzle that keeps me up night is the other girl DS who has been identified several times as Morgan. She was with three or four..I forget now..men that night. Her boyfriend and his two buddies..ok three of them. Could that have been who they saw. DS and her boyfriends? I think when all is said and done we shall all be suprised. Somewhere I think Facebook somebody said they thought for sure they saw Morgan and posted a picture. For heavens sake it looked nowhere like Morgan. So I am sure this is what LE is dealing with. Bless them in their work.

I would also like to remind everyone of NK. He was brought up as hinky and to my knowledge - never dismissed. If the UVA basketball team had an open practice that night at UHall - then it would make sense that a sports fanatic such as NK would be there watching. I'm just saying - that would give him a reason to be there and before no one could be sure of why he would have been in the parking lot.

I absolutely agree about the basketball players... but that's why I think it's hinky that no one has clarifiied much about their situation. Just a simple, "The LOA and suspension are team matters and not related to the investigation of MOrgan Harrington."

BUt, I also think they could have information and not be culpable for her disappearance. Ex. Did they tell her about a place that she went to?????

I would also like to remind everyone of NK. He was brought up as hinky and to my knowledge - never dismissed. At the time of his weird postings on FB it was mentioned that by members of the FB group that they were going to report him to LE.
Hopefully someone really did report him, just as a precaution if anything.

(I don't see one in any of her pictures but its possible she got one after they were taken) I ask because there is a report of a female body (possibly partially burned) between 13-20 years old and approx 115 pounds being found in a state park in York Co, SC. No confirmation on race or hair color. A picture was shown of the tattoo and the arm appeared to be of a light skinned individual.

Interesting. Approximately 5' 5" and 115.
Wouldn't LE give the tattoo as something for the public to look for, or maybe they are withholding that info like the necklace was withheld for weeks.
Even if they didn't tell the public I would hope they entered it into the database, the one police agencies across the country use when they have an unidentified body.
