Well something's going on. Wasn't his deadline last Friday at 9am to take the deal? He's had the whole weekend and they're still "working a deal". I think part of that deal is jail time, and he doesn't want to do any of that.

He knows that the plea deal, and pleading guilty, in all likelyhood. means the end of his NFL career, and he is no doubt having a very hard time accepting that. Sorry Michael, that's the deal.

Let me be the first to go out on a limb and say that Vick will NOT...NOT plea bargain this case.

In the egomaniac's mind, his fans still luve him. He is listening, wisely, IMHO to his attorneys who are telling him to take it to trial. They looked at a plea bargain that saves the career but the NFL Commissioner is apparently not going to tip his hand on what will happen to Vick if he pleads. Couple that with the fact that the judge told the other two thugs "you do understand that I don't have to abide by the recommended sentence in the plea, don't you?".

Vick isn't going to risk a plea that might net him real jail time and a lifetime suspension from the NFL via this tough judge and the new tough commissioner.

I think he is going to take it to trial and look for the lone, racist juror who will buy the whole "if Michael Vick wasn't black, we wouldn't be here nonsense".

You heard it here first.

yep. doesn't matter how good the fed lawyers are (and they're the best) all the defense needs to do is make sure there are a few black jurors and the best we can hope for a is a hung jury. and if it's an overwhelmingly black jury, forget it, not guilty verdict hands down.

don't think it can happen? I have two letters for you...O and J.

Exactly.

If you know that the NFL commissioner is prone to ban you for life or a very long time, why take the plea? If you know the judge is already signaling that he doesn't have to abide by the sentencing guildelines in the plea, why plea?

I would rather take my chances with a jury for the hung jury or the not guilty verdict--hell one of the defendants failed a drug test at his plea hearing. I would make them out to be the guilty parties that are trying to save their skins. If convicted, it will...I assume....be under a different judge who may not be as harsh. Even if convicted, you lose your NFL career, and are sentenced....it is a year or more down the line.

He isn't going to plea to anything. I look for him to reassess his innocence and go to trial.

P.S. an addendum to the reasons why Vick won't plea.....

Friday, the State of VA announced it would file charges on the perps, including Vick sometime in Sept. I think that single thing hung vick.

If he pleas federally, that has no bearing on the State charges. So if the State files charges relating to the gambling portion of the operation, it will be harder for vick to deny that having pled previously.

So now vick is stuck between the Federal charges, the RICO charges pending federally, the state charges, and his tried and true dyed in the wool best ex-friend crew.

The real pleasurable thing in all of this is that vick swore allegiance to his crew over everyone...the NFL, the falcons, his own MOTHER and now his undoing will be at the hands of two of his crew. Kind of makes swearing off teh crew and focusing on your career look like the wiser of the decisions, huh vick? Rock on vicky.

HAHHAHAAHHAHA yeah I hope they add racketeering charges to his azz. Or better yet, take the plea but the judge says the hell with the prosecutions recommendations and sentences him to the full 6 years.

by the way, his mom and his family isn't much better than his fellow street 🤬🤬🤬🤬 friends. Remember Vick's family was cheering loudly when Chris Chandler went down with an injury. For the non sports fans...Chris Chandler was the Atlanta Falcons starting QB at the time and Vick was the backup. Chandler went down with an injury during a game and Vick's family cheered and hollered right in front of Chandler's wife and kids. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

I'm not sure how old Vick is but I'm thinking that since probably his teen years he has been treated like a star because of how he played football. Coaches, friends and parents probably overlooked a lot of things because of his playing talent and he can't really imagine now that no matter what he's done, he'd ever have to pay for it.
I don't know what will end up happening, I'd like to believe if it does go to court justice would happen, however we've all seen in the past that isn't always the case.
Could it ever be fixed that no matter what happens, Vick is never allowed to own a dog in the future? What about the others who've pled guilty, will they end up going back to raising dogs?

I think that he believed up to Thursday of last week, the NFL would introduce their penalties as part of the plea bargain so he would know the extent of everything before the new charges....but they said no.

Now he has State charges to deal with.....

It sucks to be vick today! :D

Glory hallelujah!!!

He had nowhere else to go on this...obviously guilty. Can't wait to see the details of the deal.

Does anyone know why Vick was allowed to continue the plea past last Friday's supposed deadline? TIA

Because talks were moving forward and productive.

Vicks took the plea with the feds. I just heard it on ESPN while hubby was watching the sports channel.

The NFL needs to ban him for life. If he thinks a plea deal will end this, he is seriously mistaken.

M. Vick is such a piece of 🤬🤬🤬🤬. These cowards who steal other peoples dogs to train their fighters should be shot. How manly is it to steal a dog and then tape its mouth shut so your dog can rip into it. They have the nerve to call themselves dogmen. They should pray to god that they never run into me. I am not saying that Vick personally has stole other peoples dogs to train his own, but more referring to dog fighters in general.

It is a fact many dogs are stolen and used as bait. It would be naive to believe there is or was a dog fighting business that did not use this practice. This is just one of many reasons many humane societies and shelters often charge what seems like a high fee for adoptions. It cuts down on some of the less-than-high-profile people who get animals from the shelter for abusive purposes.

It is time for Americans to wake up and act on the atrocities that go on with dogs in this country (and other animals too such as game cocking). As long as there is money to be made and people with heart remain quiet, this crap will continue.

Off my soapbox ... (mumbling under my breath about scumbags who abuse animals, children and the elderly). :silenced:
