The only teams I can think of that would take Mikey Vick are the Raiders and the Dallas Crackwagon aka Dallas Cowboys.
I'm just happy my team isn't on that list!! :D

You know what gets me about this case, other than being mad as hell because of the torture these poor animals suffered, is how somebody could be so stupid to get involved with this in the first place. MV had millions of dollars in NFL contracts, did he never consider what he was putting in jeopardy if any of this came out? Just the endorsements alone were worth several millions! Was his desire to be involved with dog fighting so strong he figured it was worth risking all these millions? Did he have not even 1 person around him explain that if this ever came out it could mean serious trouble? Surely he had to have some type of financial advisor, how was the money needed for running this kennel explained to them?

Good. I'm glad to hear that! So, he lied under oath - that ought to be good for something, I hope.

I don't know what he said under oath. He lied to the NFL about gambling. I guess he thought they had a bigger problem with that than the dog killing/fighting.

Sounded to me like he lied in his plea agreement, where he stated he didn't gamble.

Knock me over with a feather, now MV ONLY funded the gambling. Funny how the guilty always think that we are that dumb.

I look at him as thinking he's above the law and that they wouldn't be coming after him for anything. Funny thing is that originally this property was being searched for drugs. Makes you wonder too if that's also true and who was using or selling them. Of course, he says he didn't even live there.

I think gambling could automatically get him banned for life from the NFL. Dogfighting isn't one of those things that are specifically mentioned in their rules & regulations ~ but it may be added now! :)

Michael Vick won't play in the NFL, in 2007, 2008, and in all probability, 2009. After Atlanta does all that it can to recover the $22+ million, they will, in all likelyhood, cut Michael Vick. The State Of Virginia is expected to bring charges against Michael Vick within a month, or so. After that we will have a better idea of what Vick's future looks like.

That's what I read too ~ that the Falcons are only keeping him on the roster in order to collect the $22M signing bonus. I doubt he'll be playing anywhere in the NFL again. There are too many good QBs out there who will be young and healthy at the time Vick is released from prison and he'll be just like his business name "Bad Newz".

Vick will lose $71 million in salary over the next 7 years.

Vick will lose roughly $50 million in endorsements over the next decade

Vick's legal fees are around $1 million so far; they would have been much more had he gone to trial.

The Atlanta Falcons are expected to make a stetement on Monday after Vick's hearing, possibly in reference to the $22 million they want him to return.

Buzzm1 is right in that he is just about guaranteed to miss '07 and '08 due to prison time. It'd be nice if the judge gives about 20 months or something so he could miss '09 because of prison. Cause after he gets outta prison, the commish Goodell will suspend him for at least a year. Probably 1 season. He's definitely not playing in 2009 regardless.

The biggest thing Vick is worried about is $ that's why the #1 thing for him and his lawyers was not admitting to the gambling. Kinda shows how little he cares about anything and that he really doesn't believe he did anything wrong. And when you think about it, saying he didn't gamble is just silly and makes even him look even worse. So what he's saying is he created that dogfighting enterprise for no financial gain? He just enjoys fighting dogs, seeing them get hurt, and then torturing and murdering them all as a hobby huh?

He is a sadist and should be done away with.

Anyway back to how Mikey will be hurt where he cares most (his wallet)

$61 million in base salary is GONE. hehehehehe.

Buzzm1 says $50 million in endorsements, dunno how accurate but it sounds right.

The $22 million is the big thing. He'll put up a big fight for that. I really hope Atlanta can get all or most of that money back.

If Vick ever plays again, like we talked about yesterday I'm sure the Raiders will sign him. However it will be for the league minimum. And by then he won't be in shape to be a QB. He's a lousy QB anyway. He should've been running the ball. But he'll be 31 or so at least when he gets back to playing. That's fairly old for an NFL running back.

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.

He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as
He got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.

When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?"

"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.

"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.

"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up."

The man gestured, and the gate began to open.

"Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked.

"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.

After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence.

As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.
"Excuse me!" he called to the man. "Do you have any water?"
"Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in."

"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.
"There should be a bowl by the pump."

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.

The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.

"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.

"This is Heaven," he answered.

"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too."
"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell."

"Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"

"No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind."

That was great, Buzz. On another positive thought, the World Little League Champions beat out Japan today to win and these little guys are from Warner Robins, Georgia. Maybe all future players will shine the same as these little guys today. Having fun, playing for the game and not involved in crookery, shenanigans and God forbid, torture of animals. I am going to look at this win as our future when people quit exalting the crooks and take on real gamemanship.

Maybe there is, and maybe it's the rapper DMX. An Arizona TV station is reporting that Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies say they removed 12 distressed pit bulls from a home owned by DMX. It's possible that it's just a coincidence that the Maricopa County Sheriff's office raided DMX's home right around the time that Vick's lawyers and federal prosecutors were wrapping up the plea agreement in which Vick agreed to cooperate with other investigations.

It's halftime Pittsburgh/Philly and the talking heads are disputing if Michale V is lawyered up. Should he take responsibility and come out and say he is at fault for all the dogs being tortured. He won't. One of the talking heads said he can't because just the gambling charge will keep him from coming back. Just thought I'd share as I have the game on.

Why didn't Arthur Blank seek disciplinary action on Vick on this incident?

Good question. One can only say now that their collective pants are down that they were trying to cover an irrasible player. BS, he is a miscreant who deserves whatever jail time is afforded under the law, and, Arthur Blank better get with the program for once.
