It can be a slippery slope once a conversation begins, according to Richmond FBI special agent Mike Harrington. Harrington supervises the cyber squad, and says a lot of teens use these apps without thinking about the motives of others.
"They may really only be looking for online interaction, but somebody who has other goals in mind, can establish rapport and eventually ratchet up the pressure, and eventually pressure these kids into doing something they may not have been looking for initially," said Harrington.
