Typically LE will not allow the parents to search. If the child is found, and parent runs and grabs child, then evidence could be lost. Most cases I have seen are always handled this way.
Thanks so much, Tallula. That's good to know.

Did the parents ever participate in looking for Noah?
Have the parents issued a statement about Noah since he has been found? Or a statement thanking people for their help?
I might have missed it, but I can't recall a single statement from them - when usually in cases like this the parents seem to release something almost immediately 'in honour' of their loved one, once they have been found deceased.
"Unfortunately certain tests take a long time to complete and the final cause of death is dependent on those results. I understand your frustration with the lack of details surrounding Noah 's death, however I ask that you respect my office's mission to thoroughly investigate the circumstances of this case and at the appropriate time - when it would not otherwise jeopardize this investigation - we will make a formal statement on the findings."
Hm, interesting.
They would know by now that Noah had fluid in his lungs from drowning.
Is the idea that there was no fluid in his lungs and now they are reaching out to "certain tests" to determine the cause of death?
Well I guess I am done trying to figure out ways this was an accident!!!!

Po
I agree that I found it odd, also. Unless, mom was so distraught, but you would think the dad would've searched. Could LE have asked them not to? I hear you about the dog. My neighbor's dog went missing and my husband drove around helping her look for the dog for about an hour.
I imagine these are toxicology drug tests that are more specialized?
But even if he did have fluid in his lungs, they might have reason to need to do other tests too before ruling everything out.
Now we Google what tests takes longer to come back with results....
I guess we are now looking at something other than an accident. Unfortunately, I had already assumed as much. If he drowned, wouldn't they just state- at this time it appears to be a tragic accident, pending confirmation with a negative tox?
