So there was media showing where the parents did attend the funeral? Where can I read this?
It is on Cameron Austin's twitter feed. See post #805.

ALDERSON, W.Va. (WVVA) - Greenbrier County 911 dispatchers said a 2-year-old child died after falling into a septic tank in Alderson.
It happened around 12:48 PM Tuesday. The child died at the Riverview Exxon car wash.
~Snip~
The child's mother was washing her car when she realized he was gone.
The boy was found in a tank behind the station/ car wash that is used to hold grease waste.

Awful! And the police have already stated that they believe it was an accident. And there's the rub. LE has not done right by this family if they believe the parents played no part in this.

I think there is a difference in that this child was found very quickly after falling in, and presumably, there were witnesses around to verify timelines and his mother's movements. LE must surely have a more difficult job with Noah's death, as he was missing for days and found within the family home/garden - plus LE themselves said that they only had the family's word to go by regarding timelines as there were no other witnesses for the Sunday morning. SO LE has a lot more investigating to do in Noah's case.
But I agree, if Noah's death is known to be an accident, LE really should be making this common knowledge.
I have heard several people give "statements" from the parents and family of Noah so that is simply not true! I read two very nice posts on FB only a few minutes ago speaking for them from an uncle and an aunt giving thanks for everything including support from their community (some people must be treating them with respect and dignity).Because they have not been involved with any community events to honor Noah, talked to the public, made a statement -- or have someone read a statement thanking others for their support and help- etc.
Noah's mother and father have been invisible except to for being at Noah's funeral.
Because of their non-involvement as well as community speculations of their guilt, maybe safety issues, some thought that the parents would honor Noah in private (separate funeral) and this was a public event.
You're absolutely right.. I'm just frustrated at the possibility of LE's actions inciting animosity if the parents aren't culpable at all.![]()

Chief Bennett says the cover of the septic-style tank was partially open and it appears the boy fell in. At this time no charges have been filed but the child's death remains under investigation.I think there is a difference in that this child was found very quickly after falling in, and presumably, there were witnesses around to verify timelines and his mother's movements. I have come to believe these parents are very introverted and on top of losing their son are not handling this attention well at all. Some people don't. There is no right or wrong way to grieve the loss of a child so we shouldn't judge them for not wanting to do it in public with cameras on them. I don't blame them for being invisible when vultures are hovering above their heads just waiting on them to crumble.
There was never any talk of Noah's parents not attending his service. None. The only tongues wagging in that direction should have been bitten, imo.
I'm confused by LE's actions.
They must have a pretty good idea by now if the circumstances point to either accident or foul play, but they don't seem to want the public to know.
If the parents are innocent, then you are right, LE are doing them a disservice. If evidence points to something more sinister, then I hope LE is making sure any person around the guilty party/parties is not at risk, and that the guilty party has no chance of getting away at this point.
I'm sure that any parent who has left a child alone for a period of time and something bad happened to that child would say, looking back, that they wish they had not been negligent (in watching their child). I don't think they would defend the choice that helped facilitate their child's death. So I won't defend it either, because it obviously was a wrong decision.
But, I will feel empathy for her for the horrible loss of her baby boy, and just try to make sure that I am never in the same shoes to have to look back and only be able to WISH that I had watched my child more closely. Because I am sure that is the worst feeling in the world.
From memory (feel free to correct me people).
Mum and kids dropped dad off at work around 7am. Around 8.00am Mum decided to take a nap with the baby (8 months old) in her bedroom as far as I am aware. First timeline said that she woke around 9.00am and saw Noah was still watching tv, so went back to bed and then woke up around 10.00am to 10.30am. Noticed Noah wasn't there, looked for him, then called LE at 11.00am.
However a second timeline was later released to say that Mum didn't wake at 9.00am, so was asleep from around 8.00am to 10.30am. Woke up to find Noah missing - coat and boots missing too. This is the timeline that is accurate as far as I am aware.
LE found the poor little boy in the septic tank a few days later, following a tip.
Mum said Noah was a cautious boy who didn't wander.
A WS member, says that the septic tank cover was under ground - she knew this as a relative of hers lived in front of Noah's family up to very recently. She also said that it was usual for Noah to play outside unattended.
A news reporter also stated that the cover was under the grass.
LE haven't said where the cover was located. On discovering Noah, LE said they removed the lid and drained the tank.
Hope that helps, and hope I've remembered correctly.
So the word is that the septic lid was partially open now? And this was missed by several searches by dif people. Wow. Jmo

It's not negligence. And are you telling me that you wouldn t defend the actions of a parent who lost a child simply because the parent doesn't defend it? Many people try to assuage parents who blame themselves for horrible things that happen to their kids. They don't say, "Well Sally, since you are blaming yourself I will too."
Accidents happen. To the best of us. And this mother didn't leave her child alone as you stated. She was in the very same house. She didn't (if the facts are accurate), walk out of the house and leave her kid unattended. She was there. Right there. So IMO, until we know more, she did nothing "wrong".
It does help. Thank you so much! It's odd. How did the tipper know the kid might be in the tank?
