A 6-month-old baby was removed from the parents' custody the day after Noah's body was found, officials said. Dublin, in southwest Virginia, is about 240 miles southwest of the District of Columbia.

I'm now wondering if this is correct? Does anyone recall LE saying the baby was removed from the home the day after Noah went missing or the day he was found? To me, this is important in the case. I do remember the day Noah's body was found, a Twitter reporter listed vehicles seen at the scene and child protective services was listed. I've looked and looked for that report and can't find it. Anyone else remember this?

I think that was just poorly worded. The Sheriff announced it the day after Noah was found but the removal took place the day after Noah was reported missing.

I am concerned about the condition LE saw the baby living in..............was she close to death also?
IMO, I can't even go there.
For someone to use the toilet knowing their first born sweetie is laying in the bottom of a septic...................
once proved, I for one would never forgive them.
These cases call for the death penality JMOO
If people knew they could get the DP maybe they would think twice about these crimes.
Criminals know we waste money on many trials and slap people on the wrists.
Try to rehabilitate monsters..............what kind of world ..........JMOO

EXACTLY !!!!!! There doesn't seem to be any deterrent whatsoever to people who commit evil acts upon others. Killing or causing the death of your own child is unspeakable and as low as it gets !
And I for one will not say "... There but for the grace of God go I..." in this case ; because nothing in this world would make me harm my children.

Some may express sympathy for the perps in this case since they (the perps) struggle with addiction. Well guess what ? Some of the rest of us struggle with addictions as well, and we still do not harm our kids.
If a person who likes to cook and eat can stop doing that (especially the eating part)--- than other people can stop doing drugs.
And let me tell you , eating is harder to stop doing , since a person has to keep eating something. Unlike drugs where the addiction can be abandoned and never taken up again.

There are some who can never be rehabilitated and it appears these perps qualify.

Is it common for the courts to not allow bond? I just saw that a relative was arrested and held w/o bond (charges unrelated to Noah).

If we removed Noah's death from the equation I imagine that P & A would have been allowed bond. All of the regional jails in Southwest VA are overcrowded and people are getting bond for things that they normally wouldn't have.

So this story is very sad and it raises a question for me. If the smell is so awful when septic lids are removed, why did no one mention that the yard here had any foul odor? It seems the lid was the giveaway when I would think it would be the stink.

I imagine that the smell would be relative to how full the tank was so I wonder when it was last pumped or treated. If Noah was placed there late Saturday night would the smell have dissipated by the time that LE was called at 11?

Treading lightly here...that other arrest of a family member for a charge unrelated to Noah's case was for contempt of court in a court order on a previous charge. The Virginia code relating to denying bond has several criteria that involve repeat offenses, committing an offense while awaiting trial, etc. It could be any one of those reasons. If it is truly unconnected to Noah, I don't think speculating on it gives any answers as to why AW and PT were denied.

I can tell you that I asked my cousin if there was any smell when she lived there and she said no.

Birds of a feather, Paul's brother is a felon..........

IMOO, no child is safe in the 2 brothers home. his brother and is wife said that P & A were great parents, hands down..............oh my Noah never had a chance. So happy baby is out of that habitat!
IMO the rumors in a small town was true, this family was known to be bad news and LE knew that very well.

I think Schmaley is talking about the 2 yr old that fell in a septic............that cover was off............negligent JMOO

Just for clarification they were Paul's brother & sister, not SIL. KI is Paul's sister, as is SIH, and JT is Paul's brother.

I imagine while a lid is off the smell would be awful, and linger, however, I think once the lid was put back on the smell would dissipate quickly, more so if it was windy or had rained.

<modsnip> That's the only reason I can think of for LE saying that they were familiar with Noah, in light of the current charges. Before, I was thinking, "Eh, it's a small town." But I think that statement the Sheriff (?) made, was pointed and telling.

In my heart I would like to agree with this, but criminals do things they know they can get the death penalty for...all the time. I'm in Texas, everyone here knows you will get the death penalty for raping and murdering a child, killing your own child, etc...and it's a normal occurrence for these crimes to happen. I am not against the death penalty as a punishment, but I don't believe it will ever be an effective deterrent.

Ha! At least my husband was up with them. Though, my husband is the kind that when I meet him somewhere for lunch, he usually had the baby dressed like a little mini hobo baby, mismatched socks and all.

They may be dressed like idiots, but they're safe, haha!

My husband is very colour blind. When my youngest was little, he went to a daycare facility, as we both worked. Some evenings I would collect him, after my husband had got him dressed and dropped off that morning, and the staff used to laugh and say "we guessed daddy dressed him as soon as we saw him"...... the colour combinations would be amazing!! He can't even see patterns if certain colours are on them, so the poor boy would have a patterned top, different patterned trousers and then patterned socks, all of which would clash!

I may have misunderstood, but I think the possibility is still there for bond, but the bond hearing hasn't been held yet. The arraignment was done to formalize the charges and bond was asked about, but since a judge from another county was in charge he was unable to address anything about bond.

The case with the two year old they said was a vacant home.
