Federal Lawsuit Alleges Assault, Cover Up at Trailside Middle School

A federal lawsuit has been filed alleging a sexual assault at Trailside Middle School and challenging series of actions by school administrators and investigators who concluded the allegation was unfounded.

(Side note: Is it normal for a civil action like this to be filed in Bankruptcy court?)

I have heard through an unconfirmed local source that the bankruptcy court was a typo and is being corrected by the attorney. Local source also states that other students have come forward. This could get really ugly really fast.

Edit: I found that it was filed in District Court by searching the case number. So yeah. Typo.

I hope that A.A. And Doe are vindicated. Seems pretty simple to prove since Doe can describe the teacher’s genitalia.

All of the so-called “professionals” who had a part in the coverup should be given jail time and banned from working with children ever again.

What a sickening case.

This child has been put through torture not only from the teacher’s assault, but also from all the professionals around her.

It appears her mother tried every way she could to get this problem resolved before going to the legal system. She wasn’t one of these people we hear about so often that's in the “I’m going to sue you” type.

I hope she wins and also is awarded money for Jane Doe’s therapy as long as needed. Mother and daughter have suffered immensely!

This is just unimaginable! If you read the 30 page long court document - even the first 6 pages - you’ll be completely enraged at how this school, the school staff, the teacher in question, and even the local sheriff’s office have victimized this little girl and her family. I’m just speechless...

And this is in one of the wealthiest counties of the nation, with “excellent school systems” all fighting to out-perform and out-rank each other.

When are they going to learn that it's never a good idea to cover something up? It's like mold, it's going to be way worse when it hits the light of day than if you had addressed it when you discovered it.
