Very interesting. Munoz is one of the most well known photography studios in Miami. Weddings, quinces, graduations etc. Been around a long time. If there is a Miami connection, the UID could be Cuban. Late 80's but still the 80's. Lots of drug wars etc. Does I-95 go through the part of VA where the decedent was found? If so, that's a straight shot up from Miami. Pardon the wild speculation on my part, but there is not much to go on here.

I believe the title is incorrect - according to NamUs the "Munoz Studio" logo was on the green comb, not the handkerchief.

The Munoz Studio exists since approx. 1961 when the founder came to the USA from Cuba.

Would somebody from Cuba considered Caucasian/white when a skeleton was found? I think so.

John Doe being between approx. 40 and 55 yrs old when found, would have been born between 1934 and 1949

Do you use the same comb very long? We all know it's getting greasy after a while. I tend to clean all combs, brushes once in a while. I don't know.....it's hard to say when and where he got it and how long he already had it. Comb might be a red herring.

I think Compu Chrome is a typo and is Compu Chron. Or a cheaper rip off? Who would wear a plastic band? It seems very uncomfortable to me. Was it kind of stylish in those days or just a cheap replacement. Couldn't find any vintage watch with a plastic band to be honest.

I wonder if there is anything to know about the dentals of this John Doe.

Yes, there are a lot of Cubans whose race would be considered white.
I agree that the comb could be a red herring. There are a number of ways it could have ended up in the possession of the UID.

Mr. Abad's height is a match to the lowest estimate of UID.
Timeline kind of works. UID's PMI is 7 months/ Mr. Abad's ex reports him missing 1/10/89, however she hadn't heard from him in months so it could be a year or so prior to discovery of body.
Mr. Abad's race is white which matches UID.
Mr. Abad is from Miami where Munoz studios is located.

Your are right, I don't see an immediate things that would rule him out. He is a little younger then the age range, but that happens sometimes. Sadly there is not much of a story surrounding his disappearance to get some sense about his whereabouts or a possible link to Virginia. He has a thread on WS but there is no additional info in it. According to picture in there he seems to be "a jewelry guy", but they could have been stolen from the body.
