I saw that but I thought her parents had met her at the hospital or been contacted by the hospital or something like that -- I don't think they would treat and discharge a child without making contact with her parents/guardian at all? Obviously in an emergency they will just do what needs to be done medically speaking, but when things are a little more stabilized, I have to think they would want to contact the parents, if only to get permission to bill the insurance. I assumed the hospital had learned in that process that the parents/guardian didn't know about the abortion.@teeby The article stated the hospital visit was how her guardian found out. Her boyfriend took her to the clinic and hospital. This must have been terrifying for both. My heart goes out to this young girl.

Second and Third trimester (after 12 weeks) abortions require dilation and evaluation (D and E), pose more complications as pregnancy progresses and additional procedure cost. Heavy bleeding is a common side effect.

I agree that Ms. Perez was not concerned other students were in danger. If she thought there was actual danger, she should have screamed it from the rooftops. That is very different from trying to get the administration to react to your allegations.I had missed the part where the teenage girl "almost died".
She almost died and that Perez and the girl's guardian/uncle didn't contact CPS and authorities I find mindboggeling.
Instead Perez played whac-a-mole with the school for 3 years.
Perez surely didn't have any concern that other girl's lives could also be put in danger.
imo
Humans have a tendency to human fairly often. In short, one does not need to be, say the proverbial religious fundamentalists to start imposing their beliefs on others.I know that's naive, but someone please explain to me why she would arrange an abortion for the student if she didn't think that was the option the student wanted?
