I love UFC because not because it's mixed martial arts; which thank-you Skippy, I want to start Aikido. :)

Welcome to WS! :rocker:

I hear ya on the abuse and "hitting" part.

BBM~ Well said. She's the one who moved back to Yreka. She's the one who stole a gun, rented a car and drive 1000's of miles to Travis.

imo An abuser never let's you out of sight. Jodi never let Travis out of her sight. She was the abuser. There is no self-defence, except Travis fight for his life.

That got to me too. A little hole in that logic. He (Travis) liked watching cage fights: must be evidence that he abused JA. If that's the case, my dear friend who is a grandmother, gentle and kind, in her 60s, and weighs 100 lbs. dripping wet, might also be an abuser. She LOVES cage fights. (Go figure.) I have focus mits used to practice marshal arts punches...it's fun and good exercise. I could be an abuser, right? I'm not though.

In my personal experience with dv...I got hit. There was no punching bag around. He didn't get into the pugillistic arts other than when he could hit someone who couldn't fight back.

Also have to add that lots of dv victims don't call the cops, but they usually will have said something to at least one friend, or people around have an idea that something is wrong. I wrote in my journal. I didn't want anyone to hate the man I then loved. So I wrote little things that I understood, sort of a code just in case he read it. But I had to share it with someone, even if someone was only me. So I did that. And eventually I did call the cops. Eventually.

And the next woman he was with got abused by him too.

My point is, Jodi was not abused. Her claims are repulsive, self-serving and sick. She is a woman who became obsessed like an addict to her drug of choice. She refused to let go and unfortunately, that was a choice she made that WAS her fault.

I have a little bit more confidence since Nurmi asked for Manslaughter at the end of his closing. I'm surprised the TH's haven't been all over that one. Plus, he changed her story once again, not self-defense, crime of passion. This was changed during closings. Kind of really strange to see it done at literally, the last hour.

But, I will never, ever get my hopes up after that other verdict.
I'm confident the last minute switcheroo wasn't lost on the jury either.

 I can now mention my son's name without it being affiliated with Jodi's friend with the zit infested chin. YAYYYYYY! There are amazing people on this planet named Donovan, check out my photo album on WS, and you can see what Donovans are supposed to look like.

Never fear. I'm much more likely to associate the name with the singer, Donovan:

Sunshine Superman
Mellow Yellow
The Hurdy Gurdy Man
etc. etc.

Fun.

Didn't DeMarte say that Jodi's IQ was 119?

BBM

Yeah, I was thinking that when they dismissed the 2 alternates. Maybe they decided on a foreman and took a quick vote to see where everyone was leaning because they could not discuss it.

There were NO dismissed alternates. EVER. We have 3 alternates and they were not dismissed. :scared:

The one thing I've never understood is one of his friends said the house stunk. I can't remember who said it, but I know it wasn't a roommate. It was someone who came over to check on him. Did the roommate not smell anything? I guess since they thought he was already in Cancun they were watching Napoleon? It sounds like the relationship with the roommate was rather distant IMO.

from what - iirc - they weren't all good friends, they were strickly room mates - i think one was house sitting at the time - and they took care of napolean, it was mimi who came over looking for traviz cuz she and no one else had heard from him, i think, and when she first got there she said she smelled some thing but thought it was the dog, i guess he wasn't that well house trained - and w/ the room locked and the ran the air conditioner all the time it kidna kept the smell away, but once they opened the bedroom, i guess it was very bad, and flores arrived after the bedroom door had been open for a while - thats why he smelled it so bad when he got there

First, I think it was Enrique who was home that night. He stayed in the room next to Travis'.

I understand your curiosity about this. It bugged me back in January or February. But then I decided that since she lies, she was just lying to Ryan, and her excuse was going to be: I got lost and I slept. She wouldn't have cared if Ryan was executing her and worrying sooner. She's not a considerate person.

But I do think her plan took longer to execute than she had anticipated and she was later than she planned to be. I think she had to wait for Enrique to leave, she fell asleep, and then he had to get up her nerve. And taking those pix in the shower was a ploy to get him in a vulnerable position, and to plan where she was going to cut him.. It was part of her mental practice. She was prepping.

I personally do not think Enrique had any of his days or times right in his police interview. It's evident by him saying he saw Travis that day but also saw him later that day on a conference call at 630pm. Travis was dead by then and couldn't have been on a call.

I'm pretty sure it was Zach. Didn't Zach say he got up early to go return a rental car? I'm not clear where Enrique was that morning.

Funny shenanigans, huh? JM was not allowed to call the bank fraud lady in to testify but Nurmi chooses to discuss banking.
Did we see an official ruling on that or did Juan decide not to call the bank fraud woman? It's possible he decided that he didn't need her.

They were roommates.

That was so shady of her. Bobbi moves to another state to escape her, and then she comes to visit him and begins sleeping with his roommate. That is just
bizarre and creepy. Who does that?

the mention of cash - reminded me of what Nurmi said - she stopped at WA Mutual to deposit cash into her 2 accounts. WHERE did she get this CASH to deposit? $$ from her "tricks" with Matt and Darryl???

Nurmi said she transferred the money between accounts. I have never heard anything like that till it came out of his mouth.

I remember Zach being in NG and close to tears. He felt horrible.

Well DD got to watch the last closing arguments with me. She and my DS watched the KC verdict with me - it's ok- they are adults-lol.

I was kinda miffed that my children and grands were invading my home. SHEESH any other time would be fine :scared: But you know I stopped and thought that could have been MY son. Or another family member and I got unirritated ( making up words here) real quick.

I had a great evening with Mr Red, all 3 of my babies with their SOs and my two grandbabies. One who since she thinks she lives here is still here tucked in her bed that she has here. And I am so thankful and so blessed.

Today for me started out crummy, but as things fell into place ,I was reminded that His eye is on the sparrow, so I know it is on me. We have a great warm wonderful group here that have been pulling ,hoping ,praying, crying, ranting, raving, reading, examining every bit of evidence they could get their hands on. We have given up part of ourselves to do this. Because we KNOW that this deserves justice. That from everything said about him ( that did not come from JA) he would have been an awesome husband and father and friend.

No matter the outcome please keep in mind that even if it is not what we want , it was the system served. And she will have SOME sort of punishment. But what she will not have is a large community of strangers who came together to see Justice for Travis.

And I will think about her next month when I am vacation first at Disney, then sailing on the Disney Dream. For about one sec,

We need someone to interview Bobby

I hope Bobby hasn't disappeared too.
So, Bobby and Matt were roommates and Jodi dated them both. I missed a few days at the beginning of the trial.

I don't believe the stranded story ever made it to the jury. Can anyone confirm that? But the stranded story was even stupider because the charger was under the seat. She is an idiot if she was stranded that long and can't look under the seat for the charger for all that time. She also never explains to my memory how she got "Unstranded" or what the problem was with the car.

I believe this story was told before she admitted going to Travis' house.

I'm pretty sure it made it to the jury. I recall that my first time hearing about the stranded story was from the trial itself, during the state's case presentation. It was a video interview with Flores. Again, she uses this stranded story to explain why she couldn't pull over to look for the cell phone charger, and by extension why she couldn't buy a new one. She did say she started looking for the charger when she was stranded, but she wouldn't pull over to do a more thorough search of the car because she was "lost". This suggests that the stranded story is a cover for the cell phone time gap and telling Burns of a 9:00AM arrival helps sell the stranded/lost story. Without evidence of a late arrival, a lost story doesn't hold (she arrived on time) and therefore the cell phone time gap is left unexplained.

It is my understanding the roommates hadn't lived with Travis very long, were not that close to Travis in as far as Travis communicating his schedule with them and it was an assumption that he was gone somewhere. I also recall someone stating Napoleon would sometimes soil the house so the odor was assumed to be that. The location of the shower being far from where the roommates were also contributed to no one noticing the odor for a while, along with the roommates coming and going from the house a lot.

Yes you can. The jury is allowed to review all of the evidence during deliberation, and trial testimony is evidence. It is at the judge's descretion as to what evidence the jury requests as to whether or not they can review it by considering why they want to review it, how much of it they should be given to review, etc. However, when it comes to trial testimony, it may be impossible for the jury while in deliberations to review certain trial testimony if that testimony has not yet been typed up, BUT the judge can have trial testimony that has not yet been typed up read in court by the court reporter from their "notes" as sometimes occurs during trial.

What the court reporter is typing up during testimony is more like a shorthand rather than regular typed out words, so the court reporter would be the only person able to decifer these "notes" in order to translate that information back as regular English words. The judge can also have the court reporter type up certain sections of trial testimony for the jury to review if what the jury requests to review is a small section though it would be more likely that the judge would just have the court reporter read out to the jury in court whatever section of testimony the jury requested to review and the jury members can then take notes on whatever it is about the testimony they were interested in if they want.

I'm not sure where anyone is getting that trial testimony can't be reviewed by a deliberating jury. Trial testimony is evidence, and the jury is always entitled to review all the evidence during deliberations.

The only example I can think of what a judge would not allow a jury to review during deliberations is testimony that for whatever reason was stricken from the record by the judge and the jury instructed at the time they should disregard or testimony that was given before there was an objection voiced and that objection concerning whatever the witness or attorney was saying was sustained.

With all due respect, I didn't comment in regards to a request from the jury during deliberations.

Not that I like Abe, but he was on Dr Drew tonight
He was questioned about TA being jealous
and about the "bathroom" and kissing Jodi.
He said he could not be mad at Travis and that
JA had "lots" of guys on the side. He said this was not
reported in court because it would make JA sound like a
________.

I am sure we will start hearing MUCH more about JA's
"habits" soon.
