@beach … what do you think the Judge will rule on Monday?

  • #1,324
No immediate ruling? WTH?

  • #1,325
Oh, no... is this a bad sign?

  • #1,326
Judge talking about closing arguments says, "if we get to that point" WTH does that mean?

That’s what I’m thinking also! Usually there is an immediate decision. I’ve been confident of a conviction but I must say this concerns me a bit.

He gave them a choice.....now, or wait til Monday. They chose to wait. It was not a judge decision.

I almost fainted when I heard that...ugh

Just trying to not spill the beans he's going to deny the request for acquittal IMO since they chose to wait until Monday.

I'm not worked up about this. I don't think there's any way in hell the judge will choose to acquit The Hammer at this juncture.

your reasoning please....curious?

Gives defense time to get JR to take a deal....but he will not. Judge will deny acquittal.

Because he was willing to give his ruling right away. It wasn't his decision to wait - he gave everyone a choice.

the only thing that will change is no DP if he took the plea over the wknd.

Exactly. He knows how he is going to rule. Both sides know how he is going to rule. That is why they are willing to work their behinds off this weekend. Especially the defense. If they thought there was a chance at all, they would've insisted on waiting.

I swear you guys....this is just a formality to put on the record.

"The testimony of Dr. Coyne was that injuries Dr. Sievers suffered are consistent with a single weapon. It's consistant with a single assalant. We know who the single assalant is." -- Brizel #trialtweets #jimmyrodgersontrial #teresasievers #nbc2courtcoverage
NO, that is not what Dr. Coyne said, "He said it COULD be consistent." and as Ross pointed out, it could have been multiple attackers, and Dr. Coyne agreed!
(I hate it when someone tries to convince me, "that is what you said".....and I know darned well it is something I would never do or say!)
I didn't like this part of the process...where they cite cases, names, numbers and then take something that was ruled on 27 years ago and make it relevant for today. You "court people" talk a different language. I think I should change my moniker to
LegallyBLANK :D:D:D

@beach .. JRR on the stand next week?

  • #1,340
Anyone else think the defense will have no witnesses? The way they hemmed and hawed at the end there (was really hard to hear with the camera pointed at the ceiling) and didn't actually answer the judge's question, I think they will have none, will rest their case Monday morning, and then closing arguments in the afternoon. The judge told them to come prepared with their closing arguments.

Dumb question - sorry - does Mark go on trial directly after this one?
