I am sorry to read about the tragedies that our dear members have been through. I have a great deal of compassion for victims. There are many ways of healing and moving on. What is right for me might not be right for you. And that's okay. I believe that it is very important for victims to feel validated and justified in their strong emotions of anger, revulsion etc. They have every right. However, my best friend thinks differently and occasionally reminds me that forgiveness has nothing to do with the perpetrator and everything to do with our own peace of mind. I disagree that one absolutely needs to forgive in order to move on. Right after the verdict, Travis’ friend Elisha said “"And it's important that we forgive Jodi, so she doesn't have that power to destroy our lives." To each his own, eh?

Travis’ family have not had the opportunity to maintain distance from the criminal---a crucial element in the healing process. I cannot imagine how it must feel to sit in the same room as Arias. That's rubbing salt on their horrendous wounds. I tell you, the second most disturbing thing (right after the autopsy photos) is seeing the look on Stephen’s face during trial. It haunts me still. Hopefully, we will have a verdict next week and Arias will be shipped off to prison for good. And, Travis loved ones can finally begin to mourn the loss of their beloved family member. I imagine that each family member will have his/her own way of healing from this unspeakable tragedy and that's okay. To each his own.

Grief, healing, forgiveness - 3 words inadequate to describe what we go through when we experience the loss of a loved one. I don't know if I've ever forgiven the man who killed my brother. I wanted him to get the death penalty but the JAG told us the crime didn't qualify for death. He got 25 yrs w/o parole. I don't think it was enough. I don't hate him or even know his lot in life as the 25 yrs were up 4 yrs ago. I still mourn my brother and miss him and get angry, but I don't think it's aimed at his killer anymore. I do know grief is personal to each of us and so is forgiveness or not. We must decide how we can or cannot go on in life. No one else can do it for us.

I can see that no matter how it's been expressed, each of us want the Alexander family to find their new normal, to be able to live. We just have to let them decide how they want to do it. I do think a verdict is a big step toward that.

I have often wondered that about myself. WOULD I BE TEMPTED TO LOOK AT THE NET FOR CLUES if I was a juror?

If I was being held in a hotel with the jurors and being watched, I know for sure I would not try to sneak a peek. HOWEVER, If I went home very night, and had total freedom..... vs

trouble is, they can also read the pro killer sites and be influenced by the lies.

One minute and ten seconds of sitting on his shower floor, this the man who shaved all his body hair because he loathed the thought of germs lurking there, sitting on the floor of his shower
with the water going, looking at photos of himself in the shower, just because JA thought that would be cute?

Makes absolutely no logical or emotional sense to me. Nothing innocuous or pleasant was going on in that 1 minute and 10 seconds. Jmo.

I agree I thought the same thing when Tex Mex mentioned the gap. For him to be sitting in the shower for that amount of time even though there were no pictures being taken is odd. I don't know if she was actually threatening him in that moment with weapons or just her words, or if she said something ominous and arresting, but I agree that something scary was happening.

Can't help but giggle at the thought of what JA must be going through right now. No matter what happens, she's going to the REALLY BIG house sometime this week. No more 'Camp Cupcake'. She'll have to start fresh with the pecking order. Serious lifers who don't really give a rat's patooty what Jodi thinks she is entitled to. There's no difference in locked up, but there is a huge difference in the mindset of someone who knows they will be released someday and those who know they will NEVER see the light of day outside of custody. The END of the road, Jodi. Within hours.

Yeah, but I liked it so much I adopted it. Think of it as an homage:thud: to you.

Sure... okay... but who's Molly?

I'm leaning toward MDLR.

See the resemblance?

Neither do I.

Well, I guess they're both wearing hats, so there's that.

Ok
I had said something similar a couple of pages back. It just seems so unprofessional the way she behaved. I'm shocked that the tweeting was aloud.

I think the tweeting was encouraged, as part of the DT's campaign to solicit and provoke the haters to anger, so they could then turn to JSS and say.....see? Evidence of the need for secrecy. Evidence she's being denied "fully actualized mitigation." Evidence of why witnesses feel intimidated...yada fricking yada.

So thankful to never again have to hear Nurmi -speak.

I still think she used a stun gun on him first. Is that timing right for the amount of time he would have been down?

ICit, glad I'm not the only one. Since I learned she offered one to Travis- she'd have had to follow through if he accepted, so this is the one thing I don't think she lied about. And there are the long white jaggy arcing marks on his shoulders only on the photos directly before he is sitting down in the shower. I think she stungunned him to get him into sitting position, then changed weapons, (the gun may have jammed, not sure on that one) and started stabbing him.

The incident with the friendly tow truck driver was much earlier. Jodi talked about it being a time that Travis chided her for not behaving safely.

Thanks yes I do recall that, just the point was that this yellow truck she mentions was in one of her dreams.... where I personally feel much of her journals and stories originated, therefore should be treated with caution.

In my opinion their decision is not going to be based on the evidence, but by their on feelings as to whether they can sentence someone to death. The evidence is overwhelming and a no brainer as to her deserving death according to the law, but can they do it? That is the delima they face and so would I. jmo

OK, see y'all tomorrow for crockpot watch. Please let there be no sightings of jurors bringing crockpots. Or Tupperware. :)

I thought about that too. IIRC, Jodi mentioned loaning her stun gun to someone, so I'm guessing that she had one? That possibility was never mentioned by Juan, but it may be only because he couldn't prove it?

I hope the jurors spent the weekend burning up Google's servers trying to find the information that should have been provided to them about this liar. I'm sure their families and friends have been googlin' up a storm the whole time. What are the chances that everyone has kept their lips zipped the whole time?

I certainly hope not. No juror should disregard their oath. That is wrong and I am a very strong believer that JA should be given the death penalty. But it must be done the right and honorable way.

Swearing to uphold one's oath as a juror is a serious matter and imo, jurors take it very seriously.

I have been a juror five times in my lifetime. 4 criminal cases and 1 civil case.

One was a death penalty case that was high profile in our area. I did not nor would I ever go against something the Judge has instructed me not to do and I believe my fellow jurors followed the instructions also. Nothing was talked about except the testimonies that came from the witness stand and evidence that was entered.

I don't know if you have ever been a juror, but if not, maybe its best to talk to some of your friends who have been a juror. I think you will find jurors will do exactly as the Judge instructs them.

If they are so weak they cant uphold their oath, they should not ever be jurors to begin with. If known by anyone (friend-family) or even by another juror they may confide in that would be automatic grounds for dismissal and we sure don't need to lose another juror at this juncture. The other jurors would need to report it to the Judge asap as it would be a grave violation.

What I am a little fearful of is of the one who has a psychology degree even though they aren't a practicing psychologist or the one who has a family member who is. I have found that they tend to give mental illness way too much credit for things that humans do and want to turn mental illness into an excuse when it shouldn't be. I just hope and pray they don't try to pull clout over the other jurors and try to assess JA themselves.

imo

On the subject of Cougarluscious, being rehired. I am not surprised. I don't think the state cares about the 3 way calls, the tweets and/or the art sales. They wanted, above all, someone who could babysit the special snowflake, and keep her temper in check and her tantrums under control.

BBM

If that's what they wanted then she did a great job.

Does anyone recall if this jury has heard about the gun she bought, (the 9mm)? I know the first jury did.

I don't understand why that gun is so interesting to people. She merely got it because she was gonna go camping with some guys she was afraid of and had it to protect herself. Whenever I go camping I always pick a group of people that make me really uneasy. Doesn't everybody?

:nevermind:

I think she will be popular because some sick wackos will send her money probably on a regular basis for a while. The killer can then buy snacks for her new friends.

They'll probably force her to buy them stuff.

It doesn't seem like there any women in the free world that wanted anything to do with her once they got to know her, if not even beforehand.

I can only assume the women in jail and prison aren't as choosy. She'll be the Princess Of Perryville if she's rewarded with a life sentence.

And she'll donate her hair... and start a book club... and a recycling program... and teach Spanglish... and draw with crans... and hawk t-🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 to DV survivors worldwide.

One thing she will never do is admit she killed TA because she couldn't sidle her way in (butt first) as Mrs. TA.

I believe that psychopaths can only hold it up for awhile before people figure them out. Once they figure her out her popularity is going to plummet and life will become miserable for her. She'd better hope they keep moving her from one prison to another the rest of her life if she doesn't get the DP.

OK, see y'all tomorrow for crockpot watch. Please let there be no sightings of jurors bringing crockpots. Or Tupperware. :)

Watch out especially for MRE's.

When I was on a jury I refused to talk about with my mother who lives in PA, until the trial ended.

i thought the same thing. She is likely a teachers assistant or aide...paraprofessional, I think they are really called now

My daughter is a special needs teacher's aide in the Fort Bend ISD in Sugar Land TX. She def uses her computer non-stop. In fact, anything about the school - activities, schedule, her job, etc is on-line.

ETA she is a Paraprofessional and they provided her with a lap-top.

Juror #2 the guy in "wranglers"?

"Okay the jury has lost their damn mind. Rumor has it that one of the sitting jurors wants to trade places with an alternate juror. As you recall when Juror #2 was drawn as an alternate, she cried all the way to her car. Well, today one of the jurors who is currently deliberating has asked the judge if they can trade places!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW! Now in a normal universe this would never be allowed. But this is Judge Stephens we are talking about here. So stay tuned.

But wait there is more…"
