He was stabbed 29 times. It's on the record. Shot once and throat slit nearly decapitated.
On the alone time some say 2 years some say 5. I do know they must earn shorter time
with good behavior.

Heads up, red faced, frustrated, angry, solemn, emotional, smiling. Thanks, tweeters. That was helpful.

The Tweeters (not the re-tweeters) sound like the "eyewitnesses" in Ferguson, MO. They all saw the same thing, yet they all saw something different.

Funny you should mention:

@myem04: @nunyabiznezz00 @courtchatter @TrialDiariesJ Maybe being a nurse gives her a better understanding to what TA went through. #jodiarias

@TrialDiariesJ: @myem04 @nunyabiznezz00 @courtchatter It did 1st time around with a nurse. She explained the jury the pain TA went through

The nurse voted for death in the first trial.
The trauma nurse doesn't worry me. She is a survivor of domestic violence. She will 100% know that JA was not abused. I'm not worried about her crying a lot either. She was very emotional during jury selection, especially when telling the court about her DV experience. She just seems like someone who wears their emotions of their sleeves and cries easily.

I think a compromise is likely...they won't hang...they know this time they need a verdict but I am not sure they have any control over what "kind" of life she gets ...natural or just life

That is not the decision in front of them. They can only decide life or death. If life, it goes to the judge.

The DV angle alone has me a bit worried (disclaimer: I worry about everything anyway) but whether or not she can see through Jodi depends very much on her. There are abuse survivors that feel anyone claiming victimization is as genuine as they are. In fact, we went through this in the first trial. There were a few folks here, also abuse survivors, that believed Jodi was a victim and were able to draw parallels between her claims and their experiences.

JMO

Precisely Kate. Each person is an individual whose journey is unique to them, and it is their experiences that will define how they see themselves, or others, as a victim/survivor.

IMO it is, generally speaking, a crap shoot when anyone with a DV history is a juror on a case where the defendant is claiming DV as a mitigator largely because it is possible that they could have been exposed to the "old guard" DV counselor. And while it is through no fault of the victims themselves, these "old guard" professionals can be, and often have been, instrumental in both providing mis-information as well as being a roadblock in the victim's healing process. With that said it is not unreasonable to believe that there is the potential of another person's abuse having an impact on the objectivity of DV victim.

Earlier today folks were joking abt Toblerones, Tootsie Rolls and Pop Rocks. I vaguely remember this from the first trial. Can someone refresh my memory?

For the sake of PG audiences, these are best defined via the "Urban Dictionary":

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pop+rocks

For "tootsie pops" consult the following possibilities, all of which might apply with a little imagination:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Tootsie+Pop&defid=3234980

and

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=toblerone

Is it possible JA used this slang without knowing that it generally doesn't refer to candy used in sex acts (well, maybe the pop rocks), but to body parts? So this reflected just another one of her lies? The way JM sarcastically referred to this story in the first trial suggested he didn't believe a word...

Another ?? abt the family. Can someone plz remind me how they were involved in the renting of the car, etc right before JA was arrested? What exactly did they do/know at that point? Thx!

I wonder if they are mad because they wanted to announce this tonight and the court squashed that. That would anger me and when I get angry I get red and if I get REAL angry/frustrated I cry. The court says NOPE, gotta wait til tomorrow so we can cross ou t's and dot out i's. The jury gets angry because they THOUGHT they were OUTTA there for good. Only they have to return to the dreaded jury room yet again. They were probably counting on sleeping in or taking off for a spur of the moment get away. (I have created this scenario completely.)

DV excuse works both ways. What came across in this trial, IMO, was Jodi was the abuser.
