I was doing some research on Maureen's case this morning, when something suddenly occurred to me. Amber is the only one of the GB4 where cell phone games weren't part of the equation. Maureen's cell phone was kept, and an attempt to access her voicemail , months after her disappearance, was tracked to Long Island. Melissa's phone was kept and used to torture her little sister, and to (allegedly) taunt her
"boyfriend", Johnny Terry. Megan's mother, Lorraine, recieved a strange call at work from someone claiming to be LE, asking about Megan's case. And, if you are of the belief that Shannan was a victim of LISK as well, phone games are certainly evident in her case as well. So...why not Amber? What makes HER different? Here are a few of the thoughts and questions I had, and bear in mind, it's early and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet.
1. We know that LISK had called Amber several times the day she went missing, and we know that he called her on at least one other occasion asking her to meet him at The Holiday Inn in Hauppauge (at least, this is what DS
tells us)...so he HAD a contact number he could have used to play phone games, yet he didn't. How come?
2. Did he not call DS or KO because he knew they would recognize his voice?
3. Did he not call DS or KO because, unlike his other victims, he hadn't courted Amber long enough to have learned enough personal info to "creep out" a friend or family member with his knowledge of her?
4. Of all 4 victims, only Amber lived in Long Island. Maureen was from CT, Megan was from Maine, and Melissa lived in NYC, but she was originally from Buffalo, NY, which is where I believe her sister was living when the phone games were occurring. Perhaps LISK wasn't comfortable calling the phone of the one victim who lived in LI. If so, was this because he himself lives in LI ?
5. Did he not play phone games in Amber's case because he was unable to do so for some reason? Was he incarcerated, in rehab , ill (which makes me think of Magic Fingers from UG for some reason), attending to a family matter, out on a boat working, etc.etc. which made it impossible for him to call?
6. Was there something about Megan's case that struck too close to home and freaked him out about playing phone games? Or, if you throw Shannan into the mix, did her disappearance bring LE too close to his door for those kinds of games to be safely played? The problem with the theory that Shannan's murder caused the phone games to stop at Amber, in my mind anyway, is that Amber was murdered AFTER Shannan disappeared. In Shannan's case we have witnesses, a 911 call, a call to Mari with a name attached, a home that can be searched, a driver who can be questioned, and so on and so forth. It seems alittle absurd to me to think that LISK would bring Amber's body back to his dump site IF he were aware of everything that had gone on with Shannan (which is part of the reason I question whether Shannan was a victim of LISK, but I digress).
It just seems very significant to me that Amber, the only victim actually living on LI, was the only victim where phone games weren't part of the equation.
ETA: One a whim, I decided to check into the month of Sept. in terms of fishing. Found this:

The big fall run starting in September is when Long Island locals and dedicated fishermen know there are rewards to be had as the fish bulk up before they migrate for the winter.
Perhaps LISK was too busy to play phone games after he killed Amber. :dunno:
