Nice to know John's memorized the talking points.

He knows that. He's just doing the Ramsey twist.

Yeah, it sounded to me like he was reading a cue card...

That would be a good song for Chubby Checker...lol

This is another portion of the same interview...OH, goody...another interview to pick apart...LOL

SCOTT: Sometimes don't you want to grab someone and say, "What I am telling you it's true. I am not lying. I didn't kill anybody!"
PATSY: You can't do that, but that's what you want to do. You want to stand up and say, "Listen to me." But we found out a long time ago that you can't. It doesn't do any good.

Kind of like...."Listen Carefully".....(the first two words in the RN...after Mr. Ramsey.)

Since the Ramseys lived in the USA, I see no reason why they couldn't stand up and say "We didn't do it!" I don't buy what she said.

Actually, on second thought, I believe they did spend a lot of time saying they didn't do it. I wish they'd stick to their story. :)

I was thinking more along the lines of "Twist and Shout." :slap:

I will try to find the transcript for you....if there is one available online.

FOUND IT!! Here is the interview in its entirety....the part that BOESP posted, from the link from YOUTUBE...is on page 2.

http://www.cbn.com/700club/scottross/interviews/jonbenet1.aspx

Here is the part that we were all talking about on this thread...

SCOTT: The bottom line, below the bottom line, people will ask me, "O.K., you've come out of this, confidentially, what do you think? There is also a side not only as a journalist, but being an ordained minister in the church, to say to other pastors, if they ask me, "Would you recommend to let these people come to my church?"
JOHN: Let me ask you this? What if we were murderers? Would we be denied access to a church? I hope not.
PATSY: That's the people who need to be there. Aren't we "preaching to the choir" as they say.
SCOTT: Well, they still say that.
JOHN: That is a problem we Christians have in our churches.
PATSY: We need to welcome everyone.

Thanks! I love you Ames

This is worth having speakers or a sound card for, even both installed would be worth it. So sad you dont have sound.

Hi-- we're working on getting sound for the computer. You don't have to feel sad for me :blowkiss:

And thank you AMES for the transcript!!

"Come on baby....let's do the Ramsey twist"......

What they said was bad enough but their demeanor in the video was disgusting, in my opinion, and the holier-than-thou attitude is hardly Christian.

He likes that dance. He does it a lot. He especially gets into it when he is asked why he hired all those lawyers right away, his answer "not only lawyers but the best detectives in the country". He loves that one. But I did see, to my utter shock, Larry King Live press him and he finally said, we were told that the police were out to get us, what would you do?Honestly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with hiring lawyers and in fact if I had the money, I would also. Why place your life in the hands of the police, some of whom could be incompetent. HOWEVER, to delay speaking with them for four months is another thing. To hold up in your friends house and to say we are not ready to talk and give us a few days, our daughter just died is EXTREMELY SUSPECT. Because, if you are innocent, you want to know who did this. You are not going to sit blindly in your house waiting for the "pain" to ease. Your daughter is dead and I for one would be out of my mind with trying to find who did this. I think most people would BECAUSE it is all they have left at that point and it will help keep them sane. A person would be losing their mind with grief and there is that part of every person that wants to live and I believe grasping on to I have to find the killer would be a saving grace and an essential to go on.

Also, I found this great site with all these interviews, so here it is:

I totally agree. Patsy almost had the same smirk as John. They seemed....HAPPY.

"Happy" was exactly what I thought too! They also seemed to beatify JonBenet and imply that her death was somehow more important than the deaths of those deemed to be less-worthy children. The entire thing indicated either fanaticism, extreme guilt, arrogance, or all three, in my opinion. :twocents:

It may have been a put-down on Rev. Holverstock(sp?).I think I recall reading in PMPT that later on,he would walk right past Patsy in church without speaking to her at all...it seems he obv. changed his mind at some point, and felt she was guilty.

They always seem too chipper too me.

I try not to judge them based on that, because I've never lost a child and I can't say how I would act. I try to stick to the hard evidence, which is pretty incriminating on its own. But sometimes that's hard, because the way they behave is so alien to me.

Yes, the evidence is what determines my opinion too. Unfortunately, behavior analysis sometimes clouds my mind.

How do you protect yourself from a dog that might bite? Behavior analysis! By the time you get hard evidence, it is too late.

I don't know why people put down behavior analysis, it is fundamental to our survival.

I always assume all dogs will bite given the right set of circumstances. :D

Yes, and I especially "LOVED" this part...

SCOTT ROSS: There are hundreds if not thousands of children killed in America and throughout the world every year. Often, unfortunately, by family members. Why did this story have so much life? It won’t go away! Even when it started, there was momentum to this thing.
PATSY RAMSEY: That is something we don’t know. And I think because of the magnitude of this we have to believe as Christians that God is using this.
JOHN RAMSEY: See what we believe, this is our hope, that for some reason JonBenet’s name is known around the world.
SCOTT: It’s a unique name.
JOHN: Well, but there are thousands of children murdered in this country every year. But you can’t name one of them.
SCOTT: No.

I guess since JonBenet would never grow up to be Miss America....(or in her case...NEVER grow up at ALL)...this was the next best thing for the Ramsey's. She is popular...her name is known all around the world. No, you can't name any other of the thousands of children that are murdered in this country every year....but....we all know the name JonBenét Patricia Ramsey....don't we?? I do not think that it had a THING to do with her unique name...as John thinks it does. It has to do with....#1...it was the ONLY murder in Boulder that year, and #2 How many OTHER children do you know that the parents woke up to find a Ransom note, but then later they find their child dead in their own home, in the wine cellar? I mean...that just doesn't happen everyday. The circumstances of her death...the umbrella of suspicion that is still covering her parents...those are part of the reason that everybody knows her name. It has nothing to do with her uniqueness of it...IMO

It was the whole package with JBR's murder. Her beauty, her blatantly sexualized pageant persona, the videos, the unusual affected name, the wealthy parents and their conspicuous consumption. The "Send in the Clowns" fiasco with the DA's office and the police. The Globe's publication of the autopsy, both horrifying and impossible to ignore (like a fatal car accident). All of it.
It attracts and repels at the same time. Her face was plastered over every media outlet for months. And there have, sadly, been other little girls murdered in these 10 years but none of them has ever been the cause of such a media frenzy as JBR.
