I wish I had known Honoree Fleming. She was my neighbor, although I only met her once and fleetingly several years ago at a neighborhood party. Since her tragic and senseless death, I have learned that not only was she the former dean of education here at Castleton, but a brilliant scientist as

Her husband, Ron Powers, described Honoree as "the giving tree" during her life.

Wow. The overall impression I get from the composite is that it looks quite like McGann.

I wonder if one or more of the people who saw Honoree's suspected killer saw the mugshot of McGann and thought he looked similar.

Edit: Looks like the report is VT reaching out to AR, not the other way around.

Still seems like a stretch that these cases might be related, but the "black backpack" noted in the Fleming description has echoes in the Brink murders.

"Police said the person they are looking for is a 5' 10'' male with short, red hair. He was last seen wearing a dark gray t-shirt and carrying a black backpack."
