They don't list his middle name/initial in the missing report, but I found a Joseph A. Gagnon from the same physical location who has a BUNCH of vehicular infractions for driving illegal motor vehicles (no license plates, no inspections, no insurance, etc etc as well as speeding charges and a charge in 2020 for driving with conterfeit plates.) I can probably surmise that might have something to do with his fleeing, but hopefully he's not injured and is safe. Vermont Judiciary Public Portal

According to police, they believe he ran into the woods. Family members say, they last heard he had planned to run home, but never made it.

The case has been assigned to the Detective Services Bureau to allow for a more thorough investigation, police said on Friday. Meanwhile, the Emergency Response Unit has been utilizing drones to search the surrounding woods.

I don’t think it is the missing Joseph. Joseph A G died in 2023.

I believe the missing person to be Joseph M Gagnon, born Dec 1972

From your link, there are 9 records for J M G

Gagnon’s family says they believe he was intoxicated and are worried about him because they say he has a bad back.

The Burlington Police did not respond to calls for an update on the case.

A possibility is that he started walking home and accidentally fell into an abandoned well or had an accident and is unable to call for help. He’s a smaller man, only 140 lbs.

There are quite a few in that area and this happened last week to a woman missing in GA. It’s such a frightening thought, but stranger things have happened!
