Or they dropped the phone and called it in order to find it.

Brilliant! And maybe they had even forgotten where they PUT the phone from a month before. I can't count how many times I've called my own phone to find it.

When I first heard about this I wondered if this was going to turn out to be where they (both of them) thought it would be great to get another gal to have sex with them. I thought that was so demented I refused to allow myself to post it. Now more comes out and I am of the opinion that they did want someone to have sex with together. As weird as that is to me, let's face it some people like that and these two probably weren't going to be able to get anyone to participate with them so they had to snatch someone.

Someone wondered up thread why he used a condom. I think it was so he didn't leave his DNA, not because Melissa would have given him a disease.

I also agree with the poster that stated that Patricia called Allen to make sure the number came up as private. No I don't think they are rocket scientist material but I think this has been done before when they've called people for one reason or another and they wanted to make sure it wasn't going to lead back to them.

I really think that Patricia is the leader of this pack, but let's face it. Allen didn't have to go along with it, but he chose to do so.

This reminds me of the Tori stafford case but with an adult victim. Where the motive is mind numbingly trivial and blase but the woman was an equal partner if not more so.

Yes and Karla Homolka/Paul Bernardo. These monsters give the girls/women as "gifts" to their partners. I have no doubt that if not caught they go on to commit these crimes. I agree with others that Melissa may not have been their first victim.

There is a post on the Help Find Melissa Jenkins by an ex-girlfriend of AP that lived with them for a short time. Very insightful as to the family dynamic, but rumor I suppose.

I googled and didn't find this website. Can you give me more info on where to find it? Thanks. :)

That makes me wonder if maybe the whole family didn't know what was going on earlier.

As a person born in the North East Kingdom, and still have many relatives there, I am not surprised at what JP wrote. The majority of the people there are normal, hard working people. The remaining population, are a very ignorant and often racist bunch. It does have a high unemployment rate, and most struggle to make ends meet. Many of the small surrounding towns used to be full of dairy farms, but that has dwindled to a few.

While the area is large, the population is small and somewhat isolated. St. Jay has a population of about 8000 and is considered a large town compared to the surrounding towns. If you discount the college student population of Lyndonville, the next largest town is Newport which is north and near the Canadian border.

I was born in Orleans which is between St. Jay and Newport. It used to be a bustling small (very small) town because it had an Ethan Allen Factory. That has since closed, so employment rates are very low. Before my grandmother passed, I was up there every 2 months or so, and it was sad to see the whole area slowly declining.

I should add that many think Vermont is a very progressive State, and it is, if you live in the upper west side or the the mid to southern side. The Northeast Kingdom on the other hand is like the neglected child.

It's been shared because she intentionally made it public so that it could be shared.
She wants the people talking about the case to read it, so that they understand the people they are discussing.
Her statement can be directly linked to, but I don't want to get in trouble for doing that.

Nothing I read about that family on the FB Share surprises me at all. I kind of suspected the whole family would turn out to be <unusual> people. I cannot begin to imagine why on earth AP ever thought Melissa would have anything to do with a <bleep> like him or his family. I don't think it's possible for Melissa to have been further out of their league.

The injustice of this whole situation really chaps my @ss.

""This is how it started," Champney said. "He wrote to her, 'Hey how are you doing?' And she wrote, 'Do I know you?'"

Champney says last November, Allen Prue began pursuing her teenage daughter online, sending her Facebook messages and pestering her to hang out.

"'Hey, we don't know each other but my name is Allen. How are you doing?' Again, he still tried it. And then she wrote, 'Don't write me again. I don't know you and I don't care to. You wrote me before. Just stop,'" Champney said."

I wonder how much PP knew about her husband's interest in pretty women and girls? I can't imagine she was thrilled that her new husband was chasing other women in town. Even though he was obviously a <bleep> and no one else was interested in him, I think jealousy and envy on PP's part were a huge part of her motive in strangling Melissa to death. IMO, PP is more disturbed than her husband is.
