I did not read it that way -- there were also multiple gunshots to the mother (head), and father-- in the back, I think, and as adults, it follows these victims may have resisted and/or tried to escape the shooter. Nonetheless, he was shooting to kill -- he did not want any survivors. JMO

I totally agree with what you said about the parents having multiple shots as well. I thought it, but failed to include my thoughts in my post, so saying it now. :) I figured with the parents it was because they were adults, and trying their darndest not to be shot, plus it's MO they weren't first. Hence multiple shots to take them down. As for the 2 younger kids, they were easy targets IMO, hence only needing 1 shot.

I also think his brother was likely first to go. I still think he had issues with him, hence the multiple shots.

Obvs... JMO. :)

Five months later, I think of the disparity between the two siblings-- the teen shooter and the survivor.

I wonder if the shooter regrets his actions as he attends school while housed in King County Youth Detention while waiting for his June hearing as to whether or not he will be tried as an adult. Then there's the question of whether or not the youth detention will remain open or if he will be transitioned elsewhere or even allowed to walk free!

Meanwhile, my heart aches for the survivor left to grieve with her grandmother and uncle. :(

I assume the Public Defenders who went into the home and moved things around in areas they weren't to enter (surviving victim's bedroom) and removed other items from the residence when they were specifically told not to remove anything from the residence.

I would think these now replaced PDs would indeed be subject to heavy sanctions and possible disciplinary action, up to and including, disbarment.

To be clear, the radio broadcast of 11/15/24 is dated but thought it had a better chronology of the details than I'd heard before or seen posted before the Judge ruled on the matter on 12/3/24.

As I recall, first, the Judge Ordered the house preserved and granted the PD team unsupervised access to the home with restrictions. Second, the PDs were then removed from the case and replaced with contract defense attorneys-- citing a shortage of PD staff. And third, I thought the Judge was tripping all over her earlier words when she ultimately denied any sanctions or found any wrong doing by either party -- citing that the house had been previously released to the family! MOO

In the end, the judge ruled that none of the allegations from either party had merit, hinging on the fact that the crime scene had been turned over to the family before the search by the defense team was conducted. The judge had acknowledged at a previous hearing that because the scene was no longer preserved, it was unlikely that any forensics gathered during the defense's investigation would have merit.

This has been one of the most well guarded cases regarding details I've seen on WS. I'm sure it's because the accused is a minor, but I mean I haven't seen or heard anything from anywhere on this.

Hard to think about this young man murdering his entire family, except the sister who escaped. I hope she has some good support around her.

This entire event is unimaginable, I wonder if we'll learn there were major family conflicts with him prior to the killings.
