Hopefully the tragedy in NY will put some much needed pressure on this case. The father has a previous assault charge against her and then the impression I got of the mother from a video I watched is that she could very well be the same type as Nixzmary's mother and know and is covering up. I have so been hoping for a resolution in this child's case but I know it won't be a good one.

I live about 1 1/2 hours north of Seattle too! I lived in Seattle (Ballard) for eight years and loved it. I was 18 when I moved there, lived alone in an apartment, worked, went to school, etc and never, ever had one incident of feeling unsafe or anything bad happening. Every city has their areas to avoid I guess.

This case is so frustrating...yet another child missing...

That boat must have gotten a hit from the dogs. It may have been stolen long ago and abandonned. The killer just was making use of it. I am curious if they have linked up the empty cement bags or garbage can to the boat.
That all heads in one direction.

Does anyone else find it odd that all the descriptions given on Adre-Anna have her in a black, puffy coat, but according to a previous poster, the mother's 911 call said she was wearing a long, red coat when she left home that morning?

I realize the mother could have been in a panic and just forgot what coat Adre-Anna was wearing when she talked to 911, but if it rarely snows or gets that cold there, wouldn't it have been kind of a "big deal" that she had to possibly wear a heavier coat that day because of the snow? I would think that even in a panic, something like that would stick out in your mind.

I do realize the mom passed the lie dectector, so chances are she isn't involved, but after hearing that drinking and drugs may be in this woman's life, I guess I just wonder if she was even coherent at the time Adre-Anna supposedly left with dad to go to school. Maybe she was "out of it" all night and/or the next morning and the dad did something to Adre-Anna during that time.

Also, the house that we presume LE searched looks like it is BEHIND Adre-Anna's home... if the father/step father watched her walk towards school, how would she have ended up behind their home? Something really stinks!

Maybe you're on to something, but from my perspective, I'm always suprised that people remember what others were wearing.

I picked out my youngest son's clothes this morning because we were in a huge hurry, so I can remember what he was wearing. The other two, although I sat at breakfast with them, I have no idea what they were wearing.

Nor could I reconstruct it by looking in their closets and trying by process of elimination to determine what's gone.

Yvette said she told Adreanna it was cold outside, and to go get a hat on, which she did. I don't remember a hat being mentioned in any of the descriptions of what Adreanna was wearing when she disappeared.

Also, there was an article on 12/23 mentioning that Yvette claims to have questioned John (stepdad) about Adreanna's disappearance, and if he had anything to do with it. John said no, and she believes him. My question is, why would she question John if she knew his story was true because she was with him that morning?

Can anybody in the area tell me if this lake is mostly frozen? I know they were doing searches there before but it seems like it would be extremely difficult because of the cold temps and weather. I personally think LE thinks she's in the lake and would bet they are gonna search it come spring. A thorough search is what I mean. I'm so sorry for this little girl.

The weather here has been rainy for the better part of over a month. We haven't had freezing weather more than a couple of mornings since the early part of Dec..

As far as the searches of American Lake, there hasn't been any news updates since the last search was conducted. Maybe they have to use the sonar equiptment somewhere else and they will come back to Tillicum at a later date to continue searching?

We still haven't heard what the DNA results are for Adreanna's or Ferderici's underwear, the boat and dumpster, and the neighbor's house that was searched.

Oh! How terrible!

I wonder if her mother was unaware she was missing until she failed to show up after school....we have had discussions here before about how school attendance offices should call parents mid-morning if the child's absence is unexcused. Not knowing till the end of the day means so many valuable search hours have passed!!

Very sad. I feel terrible for Adreanna and her family.

welcome to websleuths. just to get you up to speed here. the schools that day were closed due to the overnight snowfall, the newscast there had announced that the schools were going to be closed and announcements were made the next morning of school closings, the claim is that the mom sent her to the school to see if it was closed because of weather condition, the early story was that the dad walked her halfway to the school, and later the story change saying he just watched her walk to the school, the stepdads lie detector test is inconclusive and the mom passed. this little girl has been assulted by her stepdad in the past and was arrested for it. something is fishy about this case.

I believe there was a report made early on that they didn't have a phone in the home because the school has some kind of calling system that contacts you for school closings. I've never had that system anywhere I have lived but besides tv and radio there are websites for the school closings also that I check now. I don't know if that story is still available but I read it here way back when this case first was reported on.

I think about this little girl everyday, she was one of several that disappeared closely together along with Tekretia Buggs, Amber Harris and the little girl (name?) she was 10 disappeared going to school and found later in a rock quarry, had been killed by that animal that killed his wife and 3 beautiful daughters. It was also reported that the dogs they used tracked Adreanna's scent to the lake from her house in another direction from heading towards the school. I don't see how her stepfather could've seen her walk that way unless you don't believe the dogs.

I think about this little girl everyday, she was one of several that disappeared closely together along with Tekretia Buggs, Amber Harris and the little girl (name?) she was 10 disappeared going to school and found later in a rock quarry, had been killed by that animal that killed his wife and 3 beautiful daughters.

She was Alejandra Gutierrez. I followed all of these cases closely and they are just SO sad! I pray they find poor Adreanna and bring those who hurt her to justice.

Strach - I used to have absolute faith in scent dogs. I don't anymore - I think they're a very useful tool - that they are good for what they actually find. Scent dogs, when they lead you to evidence, have done a terrific job and that's why every police department needs to have them. When they just howl that that they've found a scent, or haven't found a scent, and their searches don't turn up anything? I think it should be discounted. Surely this girl had walked from her home to the lake before, and in the direction of the school before, so it seems totally logical that they would pick up her scent going both places.
