Pierce County deputies investigating after hikers find human remains in remote area

Wild that it's so remote, the remains were found Sunday but couldn't be retrieved until Monday.

Seems like they were near Mt. Rainier National Park.

There's a photo of the area but it doesn't show much beyond trees and rain.

I’ve never been to Carbonado but the one thing I know about it is it has a huge bridge over a river that unfortunately people jump from from time to time.

I know of one off hand who’s presumed to have jumped from it and has never been found.

Police Investigating After Body Found on River Bank in Pierce County

This guy was found in the water near the bank on Friday 1 April. I don't think it's the same body as the one the hikers found.

Oh interesting, yeah I don’t think it’s the same one either.

I just double checked and the bridge doesn’t cross the Puyallup River (the one the 4/1 body was found along), but the river it crosses (Carbon) does flow into the Puyallup eventually.

What I don’t know is how likely it is for someone coming off the bridge to end up that far down stream, but I do think it’s at least possible. And I’m pretty sure the bridge area was extensively searched after ZF went missing, so he’s probably not in its immediate vicinity.

The 4/1 individual certainly could be him, nice catch.
