No gun expert but searching suggests that the likes of Browning, Marlin and Winchester all make "repeaters", lever or bolt action, and that they could house ~10 bullets.

Something about this does feel personal to me, that he had at leaast one particular person in mind.

concur!

When I read that the suspect was Hispanic, I assumed witnesses told investigators something they overheard that led them to that conclusion. A spokesperson from the Washington state police just said on Fox that they weren't aware of any statements made by the shooter. Maybe his choice of victims led to their conclusions, a link to one or more of the victims that hasn't been made public. Maybe eyewitnesses said they believed the suspect was Hispanic. Just going by the released pic, I think the suspect looks like he could be of Greek ancestry, Middle Eastern, or a "Goth kid" with dyed black hair and eye makeup or any of several ethnic backgrounds, including Hispanic. Surely there is much more CCTV video from the mall. All MOO. My first thought was that the shooter had some sort of relationship to at least one of the victims, family or romantic. Now I am more inclined to think random as time passes.

Info on everyone pack your heat, and head to the mall!

Thus far , out of the 100's of these things, 3 citizens walking around with guns have stopped a shooter LE does not want citisens playing John Wayne!

I don't trust CNN to provide me with the actual truth on how many legally armed citizens have saved lives no matter if they were at a Mall or elsewhere. Those stories can only be obtained by searching the local/state news article where they happened and they do happen hundreds of times a year. The stories never make the national news especially on CNN, MSNBC, NBC. Just like none of them made any mention whatsoever of 10 whites being shot and killed by cops in a three day span this month.

I bet these victims who had three armed citizens save them don't think they are John Wayne types at all but were good decent law abiding citizens who risked their own lives to save others they didn't even know.

I rarely see legal gun owners walking around a Mall with their weapon. I never take my firearm to a crowded place even though I have a permit to do so.

This guy looks like a teen to me. I don't know why they think he is in his 20s or 30s.

IMO

I think it was also random and he was looking for easy targets. His facial features are extremely angular to be an Hispanic, imo.

Doesn't look Hispanic to me either but the angle and the grainy pics don't help much.

RIP to all the victims. I hope they catch this scum bag and throw him under the jail. Permanently.

I have a general FB question for anyone who might know. If someone lives on the West Coast and I live on the East Coast...does the time of their posts show up to me as my time or theirs? Sorry if that's a confusing/weird question.

What I'm saying is...If someone on the West Coast posts something on FB at 10:00 PM, (from the time I'm seeing), did they post it at 7 PM their time?

The time you see is your time zone so, yes.

I find the way they all dressed for this indcates the "feel" of the area!

What was yours ?

My bieggest takeaway was him coming in/out back in with gun/kill leave.

I think he was trying to locate his targets.

It also seems to me that he was , for lack of a better word, "thinking" clearly - he knew it would probably be smarter to locate who he wanted to murder, and then go get his gun.

Wordage does seem to reasonably indicate targeted, and probably relatives.

Mass shooters dont typically pass by dozens of targets and selectivly pass them by imo

Just seems like he is was gonna go kill family members, located them , killed them and left

I also think they know everyones name including shooter, and that this was family matter - he said to easily that the community is not in danger. I would not be surprised if they already know what the dispute within the family/relatives was etc speculation only

what did you all get?

It's hard to commit suicide with a hunting rifle. Certainly not impossible, but not exactly easy, as with a handgun.

Oh-- wait, I see the rifle has been recovered by police. Missed that earlier.

It looks to me like a deer rifle, also, not a semi-auto rifle. For those unfamiliar, that means that each time you want to fire a shot, you have to "rack" a lever. Most magazines hold 10 or fewer shots. A semi-auto will fire each time you pull the trigger, until it jams or the magazine is empty. The difference is in "how" the ammunition is fed into the firing chamber.

**There is NO permit or licensing process to purchase a hunting rifle (shotgun or bolt action) in any U.S. state that I'm aware of. No NICS required. (Background check system.) One can walk into a store and purchase without a permit to purchase or a CCW permit.

They said they think he's Hispanic because he has dark hair and darker shade of skin? Really? I'm glad the FBI is there.

Hopefully they know much more than they are saying because something here seems off. Where's the urgency? I mean, this person is on the LOOSE, FGS!

BBM And after this long no family members or friends have noticed he's missing. He was on foot so how far could he go?

Were there survivors that also gave a description? They may have identified him as hispanic, not just from the surveillance photo.

From the press conference this morning, some things they mentioned:

-Suspect walked into the mall without a gun (or it was hidden somehow)
- They are saying he is Hispanic but not confirmed. He has a dark complexion and there is a large Hispanic community in the area.
- Police are relying on mainly the security footage right now to see his identity, not eye witness accounts at the moment - still investigating
- Victims ranged in age from teenagers to seniors

Also did I hear correctly that he didn't have the gun when he entered the mall?
